Conspiracy
Aug. 24th, 2004 05:23 pmIt seems like there is a lot working to annoy the heck out of me but I'm strong and I'm not letting it happen...
My sister has now totally hosed up Mom's computer. I did finally get her to back away from the machine and leave it alone. Whatever she did now brings up about 6 popups and popunders when you open up any web page. She gets this even with two pop up blockers going. She had an old Spybot version installed so I ran it. It choked. I then went to download the latest Ad-Aware and about the time I'd fought my way through all the popups to the download page, Comcast, apparently went down.
I do have a little piece of software on that machine that reports her IP address every 5 minutes. This is a handy way to see if she's cut off from the world... as of now she got cut off at 4:30 p.m. today. I'll worry about it all later. My brother, bless his heart, has volunteered to go back up there again over Labor Day if he needs to fix it.
I did not get my Crocs today and I did not get my house keys back from Miko today.
Tonight's Mariner game is all about inducting a player into the Mariner Hall of Fame. Problem is, I have never liked the guy. He retired a couple of years ago and we had a game that was full of how wonderful he was. I'm only now recovered from that one and we've now we've got another one. Should make the loss du jour all that more fun.
My ceiling is still not painted. It was supposed to happen Friday and then Monday and then Tuesday... It's really not a biggie - I know it will get done eventually.
Oh and there were no less than 2 new messages on my answering machine about voting. I have really enjoyed the no-call-list benefits. At least here there has been a serious decrease in telemarketing calls. Until this last month. I get at least one and often 2 and 3 calls a day encouraging me to vote. I get it. I always vote. I don't need to be harassed thank you very much.
Ok, that's it. That's my list. Nothing worth crying over and now that I've bitched here, I'm ok with all of it!
On the up side. It is cool and I just saw the 10 day forecast with only 1 day where the high is expected to be more than 70 degrees. Finally. MY weather!

Date: 2004-08-24 05:55 pm (UTC)The cool weather's going to end this weekend, and be replaced by mild weather. Funny that while I really enjoy the hot summers in California, I much rather prefer the cooler springs and autumns now that I live in Seattle. Summer is just a bit too dry and dusty here... it doesn't feel right.

Date: 2004-08-24 06:02 pm (UTC)I can live with mild weather. I like the cool better but I can live with the mild... The rain - at least here downtown - makes everything seem so fresh and clean.
