It's lovely and cool. My walk this morning was about dodging the occassional rain drop. My route was dictated by a hord of people walking for some disease or something. They were gathering at the football stadium when I left off and it looked like their path was going to be over the elevated highway. So I stayed low and walked up to Pike Place Market and back home from there. Click on the camera for proof.

I just heard on NPR that voting in Australia is compulsary?? How in the world does that work? What's the penalty for not voting? Hard time?

Mom told me this morning that she fell again last night. This seems to happening a fair amount. She gets dizzy and loses her balance and she's kissing the carpet. Fortunately, Daddy had the osterperosis in the family so she hasn't broken anything yet. Her big fear is that they will send her to the hospital. They didn't after last night's toss so she was happy. And she said she wasn't too sore. These little tumbles are working very successfully to convince her that moving from 1,500 square feet to her new room is a very excellent plan.

The bed arrived yesterday and the telephone was moved. Polly has hired some muscle to move some of the bigger pieces of furniture - dresser and desk and TV - today. And, it appears from my ping check, the computer is getting moved today, too. Comcast comes on Monday.

Mom says her only real concern now is that everyone keeps popping in to check on her. "You lit such a fire under all these people that I can't get in a decent nap."

I need to do a bit of cleaning - maybe the kitchen and bathroom?

One thing that has worried me about Mom is that she had never seen her new room. Polly has been way too busy to take her. She can't really get there on her own and I didn't want to really push her. Plus, I was really really afraid that she'd go see it, hate it, get depressed and we'd have a major festuche.

I just got an email from my brother saying he'd just got off the phone with her and she'd just gotten back from seeing her room for the first time and told him 'oh, I'm so excited, I can't stand it'! Whew. Her next door neighbor is Della Jo, a woman she knows and likes and who is also on oxygen.

I did not realize how worried about this I was. Whew.
