I'm fascinated by a radio show right now - This American Life has essays and pieces around a single subject every week - this week is prison life and it's really interesting. So my errands are now delayed for another 30 mins.

This morning I had two work work items - both perfect for the weekend when the phone doesn't ring and chances of my getting interrupted are slim... I polished both of them off and I know both clients will be tickled that they are done and so quickly. I'm good for the weekend.

I do need to go to the library - a hold waiting and the grocery story.

I have more organizing yet to do. The bathroom, the hall chest, the outdoor closets and maybe my bedroom closet.

When [livejournal.com profile] unzeugmatic arrived on Thursday, he handed me a copy of the Thursday New York Times. He brought it because in that very issue was a story about Crocs. I rarely see the New York Times and I forget how meaty it is. It has taken me til today to finish Thursday's issue. How in the hell do they read it every day in New York and still have enough time to live lives?

I have made many LJ entries in my mind recently but for some reason they never actually get to LJ. I'm still working on my sans Mom rhythm. I sit down at the computer and feel like I should send her a note, VPN to her machine and see what she's screwed up this time, empty her email storage, etc. Not doing any of those things is distracting me from other computer things.

I have new puzzles that need to be uploaded. I'm going to that this weekend for sure.

Errand time. It's a cool gray day. My perfect kind of day. This will likely be one of the last we see of these for several months. I need to make sure I enjoy it to the fullest!!

[livejournal.com profile] ruralrob and [livejournal.com profile] emjaybaxter have a new family member... Dudley (on the left below). Could he and - I'm assuming those are - his siblings be any cuter??? Since [livejournal.com profile] ruralrob can make beautiful photography out of anything, I am so looking forward to all of the upcoming Dudley entries!! What fun!

Meanwhile back here in the U.S., specifically what [livejournal.com profile] jimcarson has taken to calling 206 land, things are good. I did the grocery store and the library and got shelf paper and came home and put the shelf paper on the shelves and the groceries all away and made myself a sandwich and now I'm thinking about taking in some junk TV.

It was bound to happen. I had potatoes to bake (for my twice baked freezer stock) and the oven was empty and I thought, why the heck not?! So I fired it up. 1. I'm used to toaster oven speed. Takes about an hour or less to bake a large potato. Big oven... closer to two hours! 2. And that sucker is HOT!! I'm not quite sure how I did it but I managed to burn the finger tips of the ring finger and middle finger of my left hand and I mean burn! It hurts. I have a glass of ice water here that I keep soaking them in. I was hoping to keep from putting on any kind of ointment cause I need those fingers but they aren't very usable soaking in ice water either.

Crap. Oh well. The potatoes are safely in the freezer and I have learned my lesson.
