The games I can give up any time are:

Mozaki Blocks
Bounce Out
Bejeweled
Crime Puzzle

The latter is the one that is currently on my hit parade.

I generally play the untimed versions of all of these.

During the day when I need a 4 min break and I'm on my desktop, I do a hand of Spider Solitaire. If I'm on my work laptop, it's one round of FreeCell.

So last night I printed off postage and label from the US Postal Service website and also requested a package pickup.  I requested that they pick up the package from the front door of my unit (rather than the package bin down in the garage where they usually leave stuff).  It was late when I made the request and figured that Fallback Plan #1 was to hand it to Lee, my mail carrier, when he shows up - probably about 2 ish.  Fallback #2 was to walk the thing to the PO myself.

Turns out I didn't need either one.  Guy came right to the door and I handed him the box and he saw the Netflix return and asked if he could take that, too...  Nice.  Really nice.  I want to call that plastic reindeer in the TV ad and tell him how cool it was.  Maybe I'll have the Geiko Gecko call him.  (I saw the gecko on TV last night for the first time in a long time.  I have missed him.)

Work has been busy busy today but mostly with the kind of stuff I like to do so nice.  It really is kind of like getting paid to do what you would be doing if you weren't working anyway.  Somedays it is, anyway.

I have a conf call at 2.

The end.  For now.

So the woman handling Mom's estate sends a letter out to me, my sister and my brother basically saying that as soon as I sign one last document (enclosed) she'll close the estate and send out the final distribution.  Finally.  Whew.  I'll be so glad to get this off my back and mainly because with it comes the potential for yet another sister outbreak.

And I think I smell one coming.

Last Summer, when it came apparent what the end numbers were going to look like, she (the estate handler) asked if I wanted her to do a partial distribution.  $x to each of the three of us.  I said fine.  It was my understanding that when the estate was finalized, we would each get about 1/5th of x (except my sister's amount would be reduced by the value of the loot she carted off - which she agreed to).

Today's letter implies that we will each get $x (again!) plus the 1/5th of $x.

I am sure that the implication is misleading and the truth is we will each get 1/5th.  But when my sister reads the letter she's going to think she's hit yet another jack pot. I'm guessing she'll have the $x spent by the time I hear from the estate lady tomorrow morning.

When the estate lady tells me that I am correct, I am going to get her to send my sister a letter of clarification.  I am sure not going to take the fall for this.

This closing of the estate thing has been like the other shoe not dropping yet.  I'll be so glad when it does.

And speaking of yucky things, let's review my slow bathtub drain problem. Not a clog. Not even a big deal. It's just barely makes it up to the level of issue.  Instead of slurping down right away like normal, the last bit of the shower kind of lingers a bit before going down the drain. A very little bit.

But my http://www.flexisnake.com/ order arrived.  They are quite cool actually.   Definitely not for major problems but in about 5 minutes and about 60 pokes down the drain with the thing, I managed to get about a tablespoon of hair and gook.  Tomorrow, my Safeway order should be delivered between 10-noon and part of that order is Alka Seltzer and white vinegar so I can do [livejournal.com profile] jsher's trick.
An alternative to drain chemicals: pour some white vinegar down the drain, then pour in 2 crushed Alka Seltzer tabs, and wash them down with a little more Vinegar. Let it sit for about 20 minutes, and then run hot water for a minute or 2. If the drain is really bad, you may need to repeat it.
I think I can knock this problem right out. If not, I'll probably get a plumber in here eventually - say when the shower water gets ankle deep.
