I'm so pissed at Flickr that I am really trying to give Picasa a chance. It does have some stuff I like much better (website speed being one) but the jury is still out.

I do, however, love my new table. I need to find new salt and pepper thingies.  Not as easy as it sounds.  I use kosher salt instead of table salt and I need bigger holes.  I love the one handed pepper grinder but I hate the look and it keeps falling off.  So the hunt is on. And I need pretty napkins.  There are several shops down at Pike Place Market that will likely have exactly what I need.

It is a perfect dining table for me.  I haven't had a stationary place to eat in this house since I moved in 15 years ago.  This is luxury.  Plus, I love the way it looks.

I still have the first two teddy bears I made.  They used to live on the ottoman that is now my dining room chair.  When I moved the latest TB batch, I noticed that the early ones were not nearly as stuffed as the latest ones.

Somewhere over all the months of teddy bearing I have been increasing the stuffage.  I did notice that I'm going through my 10 pound bags of fill more quickly lately.

So I made the latest one a Jarred.  Minimal stuffing.  He's on the left there.  Pudgy, on the right, was the one before him.  I can't figure out if skinny is better...  I think it might be.  I think I'm going to stuff the next ones less, maybe.

Now it's time for the chore of the day.  Taxes.  I have nearly everything pulled together but I need to review it and get it ready to take to the accountant.  If you get your stuff in before February 28, you get a price break.  At least that's what the letter in his tax kit says.  And I want to get the junk out of here and find out what the damage is going to be so I can plan for the payment.

I went to town! I decided to go see if I could find a salt and pepper solution at the City Kitchens store downtown and, if not, maybe drop by the Market and see what was there. But, when I hit the center of town I remembered Daiso! They just opened one in our city mall in the middle of town. Daiso, if you don't know, is a magical place of Japanese stuff. Everything is pretty much $1.50, $3.00 or $5.00 and they have amazing stuff that you can't find anywhere else. And, honestly, I don't know what half the stuff is. Someday I'm going to find myself a Japanese interpreter and make them take me on a tour of the store.

Some stuff is obvious. And some stuff has pictures like this gem! I have now replaced the office clip that I have been using to keep my milk closed with this magical number! They even had two different kinds of Things To Keep Your Milk Closed With. This one had the better picture. I couldn't quite figure out how the other one worked.

And I did find a perfectly acceptable salt and pepper solution. One piece, has big enough salt holes, is purple and looks nice on the table. No napkins yet.

Plus, as you can see, I'm getting the hang of this Picasa thing. If any of you are clicking through to the pictures, how is it? Compared to Flickr?

[livejournal.com profile] roadskoller gave me a GREAT idea this afternoon. I'm going to photograph all my shelves in groups and inventory the contents here! I think I'll probably shoot everything at one time - probably tomorrow - a day in the life off... and then post them one at a time. She wanted to see what was on the shelves and now she will be able to. Plus, I'll have a nice record of my stuff for when the flood, earthquake, fire or bugler hits.

Oh and my tax stuff is all organized and packaged up for its trip to the CPA next week.  This has been a good day so far!
