susandennis: (workout)
The net is:  I did 30 minutes at 2.7 and all of my stretches and my pushups.  I did not do the machine exercises cause I couldn't figure out what machines were what and I was kind of out of time.

It was a disconcerting morning in many ways.  The new gym was just one piece of the disconcerting-ness.

But it is pretty and it smells very new car.  And the machines seem huge.  It's not so spacious but, instead of feeling cramped it kind of feels cozy.  The new treadmills are wonderful and pretty and there are five of them which means I will rarely, if ever, have to wait my turn.  Oh and they report my heart rate!  They are really better than the old ones.

The other new equipment is fancy dancy.  I do think I'm going to have to sign Jerome up for another session.  I'm going to ask him to study the machines and put together 15-30 minutes of stuff to go with my 30 minutes on the treadmill.  I'll leave him a note tomorrow when I go and ask him to come up with a plan and then let me know when he's ready.

I do get a Thomas sticker today, tho.  I earned it.

First, let me declare Hooray! for Not Hot!!  It's been overcast all day which really helps.  It is a refreshing change.

I got up at 5 for the publish/launch which took an hour.  I did not feel great so after it was done, I went back to bed for an hour.  Work had filled the rest of the day except for the break I snagged for the gym.  I feel groggy and sleepy.  But, I don't do good naps so I think I'll just power on through until bedtime and enjoy sleep then.

I only wear one contact in my left eye.  My right eye has felt, all day, like there was something on my contact or under it.  I keep thinking I need to go take it out and rinse it off until I remember that there ain't no it.

We play Baltimore tonight.  They got beat by the hapless Yankees yesterday.  I'm thinking they are not coming to town happy and over confident.  Wish we could play Kansas City some more.

Since I am not a child lover, my experience around 2 year olds has been pretty much limited to screaming children kicking me on public transportation or in line at the grocery store/target/etc.  While I'm sure that they must have some redeeming qualities or people would be paying more attention to birth control, it had been a long time, if ever since I've seen it.

So, having [livejournal.com profile] keelamonster's Ella was full of surprises for me.  And there's been quite a bit of very yummy after taste so to speak.  All day I've been remembering as I pass something in my house that now has new meaning.

Betty has a scratch pad that is elevated.  Ella recognized it immediately as a perfectly sized slide.  She crawled to the top and slid down.  Betty, I'm sure, is still scratching her head about that.

I have a bench at the foot of my bed.  I use it to sit on to put on my workout shoes.  I keep the socks in a little basket there by the shoes under the bench.  Ella, who is apparently going through a shoe phase, moved quickly to the sock basket.  She picked it up and started sharing.  She gave a sock to Betty.  She gave a sock to me.  She gave a sock to her Mommy.  It was a 2007 version of sock it to me.  This was before she even got to the bears.

Then she found my little dish where I throw change.  I rarely have much in there since when going to the car, I scoop it up and put it into my car cup for drive through finances.  But I had forgotten to take it for a while so there were probably 25 coins in there.  Oh the joy.  Consequently, all day I've been finding nickels and dimes nd pennies in the oddest places around the house.

Oh and last night when I went to bed, I found - laid out very carefully to make a square - on top of the duvet cover, four chop sticks.

She was very very very busy and fun to watch.  I'm beginning to think that the screaming kicking versions of two year olds are those with manufacturing defects that people do not want in their homes and that's why I run into them in public.
