Nothing really exciting to report.  20 minutes on the treadmill and 10 minutes rowing.  The sun was, thankfully, missing in action.

About half the weekend regulars were there.  No clue where the other half were.  I haven't seen the giant black guy in about a week.  He must be on a different schedule.  Gym Queen was there but she didn't do anything to piss me off - she must be having an off day.

No sun but it is warm so I'm off to take a cool shower...

I've said this before, but clearly it bears repeating...

If, in fact, my call was actually important to you, it would not be necessary for you to tell me.

And, because you didn't get the nuance the first several times, let me spell it out for you...

If my call was important to you, I'd be talking to a customer service representative right now and we'd be handling the situation.  I would not be on hold - where I have been, by the way, for much of this morning, listening to the actress hired to record your message.  And having her tell me how important my call is to you.

When I use up most of my current Tracfone minutes, I'm filing for divorce.  They not only let me down, their competition picked up the ball and polished it.

It all started when I decided I really did want a flip phone.  I like the candy bar but not nearly as much.  So flush with cash from my bascillion hour work weeks of late, I decided to indulge myself.  So I went to the Tracfone website and did my research.  Yes, you can upgrade and yes, they will move your number and all your minutes and stuff to your new phone.  Buy one and then call us.

So I did.  The phone arrived yesterday.  I liked it.  I was jazzed.  I charged it up and I called them.  4 hours on hold.  Seriously.  After the first hour I just put it on speaker and went about my day.  Finally I did give up.  Then I tried again about an hour later and this time it was only 2 hours.  That would have been enough but they sweetened the pot.

After 43 minutes of really godawful conversation with their service rep while she put me on hold a million times, asked me the same question a million times and was really not pleasant... she finally told me, no can do.  Since my number was ported into Tracfone, they can't move it to another phone.  Then I got to spend another 36 minutes with the returns lady wasn't nearly as nice as the first bitch.  I'll be seriously surprised if I ever see that money.

Then, because 8 hours isn't enough time for me to be on the phone, I called Virgin.  Talk about a completely different experience.  I was careful to avoid their sales people and went to their technical support.  I was on hold for under 5 minutes.  I got a very clear, coherent, totally understandable representative who assured me no matter how many different ways I asked that I could keep my number and change phones every week if I wanted.

She could have been lying out her teeth but I decided that I'd rather be lied to by Virgin than deal with Tracfone again.

I have 144.1 minutes which will probably take me for freakin ever to use up but what.ever.  I did try and figure out if I could give my minutes away - I know I have two LJ friends with Tracfones who might like them.  I couldn't figure it out.  [livejournal.com profile] seattlejo and [livejournal.com profile] canuckgirl if either of you can figure out how I can give you my minutes, tell me and they are yours!

And while on hold I worked.   Not particularly fun work but I did get caught up nearly.  I have one bug left in my queue and I peeked at it and it's a massive huge bugger of an ugly FAQ page.  I think I'll save it for at least tomorrow and maybe Monday.  If I die in my sleep, I don't have to it at all.

My neighbor, Ann, went to see Death at a Funeral and she said it was great.  I've told Netflix.

Porkchops for dinner.

The Mariners game and junk TV after.

The Seahawks are playing across the street and they are being loud.  I have the a/c cranked and the door closed.  I don't mind except when the Mariners are on.  Doesn't seem right.
