Pokey me

The paper is read. LJ is read. Travis is snuggled up here with me on the bed and positioned in between me and the computer so that my arms stroke him as I type.

I do plan to get up and probably soon because my coffee mug is getting drained.

I'm always wishing that my 10 a.m. session with Rosie was earlier so I could get my day going earlier. But here I am on a rare non-Rosie Saturday and I'm probably not to get there much before 10 anyway.

My mind and my reality are so often out of sync.

So I'll get up and get over there and do my thing on my own. Then home, shower, and out.

I'm thinking of stopping at the Shanty for brunch and then on to Ballard to Skorbos Furniture to look at this.

Oh, note to me - don't forget to measure measure measure before I leave. I don't have [livejournal.com profile] fj's eye.

But ain't nuthin' going to happen if I don't get out of this bed. OUT!!

I took my little book of notes and got all settled in and ready and opened up my book to discover that I'd forgotten to put my contact in.  No could read!  So I freelanced.  I did all of the routines that 1.  I could remember and 2.  I didn't hate and then I did some squats for discipline.  Rosie always says to only do repetitions until I get tired and not to push beyond because 'your form goes to hell'.  It's better, she says, at this point to do them correctly.

So I did a bunch of different ones alternating various body parts and I even invented a new one.  She wants me to do alternating arm curls with 8 pound weights while balanced on one foot.  I cannot balance on one foot squarely for more than 5 seconds usually.  So I'm practicing doing that while just holding the weights.  And she wants me to balance for 2 minutes on the upside down blue half ball (I call it the blue soup because that's what I thought she called it for the longest time).  Actually, I've gotten good at that. So today, I got up onto the flat side of the blue soup with 8 pound weights and did my arm curls perfectly.  I heard her say 'Excellent!!'

hehehe  I am so amusing.

Home now and into the shower and then out!

I found my new chaise.  It's exactly what I wanted but would never have known how to find it.  And it's award winning!  Cameleon Slideshow by Nomand Couture.  I'm definitely going to get it but there are many decisions between now 'Order Up!'.  I have swatches.  Many swatches and I need to decide arm or no arm.

This is a good picture of the set.

It's actually three chairs.  The sofa is two of them.  The back and arm are enter changeable.  It's very clever.  And the table easily converts to an ottoman.  Oh and the side table can be made to extend.  Not getting it?  No worries.  I took pictures:

Ok, so see the ottoman?  Off to the side?  Made of those two cushions?  One of those cushions can also be used in place of the wood of the side table, too, like this next shot.

So I need to decide Arm or no Arm.  I could order it with arm and just use it without which I might just do.   Both the back and the arms can easily be removed.  If I do that and move the ottoman right up next to it, I have either 64" of flat surface or if I turn the chair the other way, I have 94"!  One thing I wanted was a place to sleep in the living room or at least lie down flat.

Fabric.  Whew.  The red on this chair is nicely nubby but too orange.  The same nubby fabric comes in a nice deep cherry red which is where I think I'm going for the chair.  And the extra seat piece that I'm going to order (to use in place of the side table).  But I think the ottoman needs possibly a print.  I love the one that is on the right in the picture above.  But that might not be a wise choice.  Oh and I have to pick out fabric for a pillow to - comes with.

I did call Sherry and Lee and they are coming over tonight or tomorrow to help on the fabric choice.

See that nice little table in the picture?  The brown one?  It's cute but very small (the Eeee fit on it nicely - my work laptop?  nfw).  And it's $300.  It's an Ekornes Ellipse Table.  It kind of looked like  $50 table to me.

So that's the excitement of my day.  I told the nice sales lady - and she was VERY nice and fun.  That I'd bring her swatches back on Monday with all my decisions.
