Toe attack

This has happened before so I'm documenting because if it keeps up, I am definitely going to take it to someone to get it fixed.

Sometime yesterday afternoon, my toe started hurting. Actually the pain, redness and swelling is just where the big toe meets my right foot. Same place and same foot as last time. Ice helps. In fact, in the middle of last night, I got up and got an ice pack for it and fell back asleep with the ice on it.

I don't remember it hurting quite this much last time and I don't remember how long it lasted. A day or so maybe.

I think if I can get it into my gym shoes, they have enough support that I'll be able to treadmill, or elliptical or at least bike for a bit. I'll give it a shot when the gym opens at 9.

I do not want it to be gout but I'm not wild about arthritis, either. My choice is to have it spontaneously heal before I can figure out where to take it for fixing.

30 minutes on the elliptical machine!! It's a personal best. Yeah, I did it at the very base level but still. I'm impressed. Also, since the impact is on your heel, it did not bother my toe at all. Very nice.

There's a race for the cure beginning and ending across the street today so the 'hood is packed and the streets are blocked so that's probably why the stretch class had only 4 students. The substitute teacher was there today and for a good 5 minutes it looked like there would be no students and I toyed with the idea of doing the class, but then I remembered my bloody mary.

Off now to shower and hit the road.

Now, nearly 24 hours after my toe went whacky, it is back, nearly. I can walk without pain, even barefoot. Weird, weird, weird but I'm totally fine with with 24 hour gout. Sure beats the kind of gout my Mom used to get. She was laid up for days in horrible pain. This is easily tolerable. Whew.

That treadmill had better watch out... I'll be back stompin' it's belt in the a.m.
