Yesterday's basket featured a small little half done elephant. He is - or rather his bits and pieces are - inside this new one. I just could not get that other pattern to work. so it's back to the good elephant pattern.

Treadmill... I did 30 minutes and varied my speed and elevation. I kept it pretty much just a notch over what was comfortable. I think I did good.

The fun guys were on the front desk and there weren't too many people there. I did have a bit of shock when Newspaper Reader Guy (I've never seen him do anything in the gym except sit and read the paper - and he does that nearly every day) came out of the men's locker room barefooted with a robe on. WTF? Then he went into the massage room. It's Friday, Ruth The Massager's Day. Guess all that newspaper readin' got him a might kinked up.

The big launch is Monday. Today I'm getting nothing much of anything. I suspect there will be some stuff this weekend but this could be it until clean up.

I'm wondering about work after. I wonder if there will be enough to keep me busy enough and/or the personal coffers full enough. This current project is good. I like working for the project manager very much and I'd say that even if she didn't read this journal now and again :). There are a couple of other - well, actually, only one, other project manager I would enjoy working for. The rest make my working life miserable. I could call my boss and ask for more hours but he'd stick me with one of the miserable project managers. So my current plan is to sit tight, keep quiet and keep my fingers crossed.

But, meanwhile, I've been filling in today with my todo list. My kitchen is clean. My laundry is done and put away. I installed a network note system so that when I want to jot something down in the bedroom and have it at the living room desk, I can do it with a simple stickie and when I come across a url here on the work laptop, I can just copy and paste it and it's automatically on any one of the other computers.

---

It's beautifully cool and cloudy out with a little rain. It's cleaned off everything. We're weeks away now leaves gone from The Tree That I Hate. Life is good.

---

Tomorrow I'm thinking about a possible light rail adventure. Breakfast and a manicure with a stop at the Philipino deli for yuca chips. Depends on what work, if any, comes in.

consentual

I keep reading in blogs and on twitter that since Dave's sex with his staff was consentual, there's nothing wrong with it and he's off the hook.

Wrong. As long as he holds the power - their paychecks and careers - consentual isn't even close to enough.

Several years ago at a small start up, my manager asked me to build a website for her husband's business. I could have said no and pissed off my manager who controlled my career and paycheck. Or I could have done it, which I did.

I am sure if you asked her, she would tell you that I totally consented to doing the job. She has no reason to believe I did not.

She was wrong to make the request. She was wrong to have me do the work. She was wrong to believe it was fine.

Dave Letterman is wrong, too.
