I spent a lovely time this morning in bed with the computer and Travis and even Betty for a time. Then I made a lovely breakfast. The kitchen is all cleaned up and now I'm planning my next move.

Today's exercise will be walking downtown and back. I'm thinking movie - I haven't seen King's Speech yet so that will likely be the one. And then maybe some conveyor belt sushi to fortify for the walk home.

That's really it for the plans. A nice, lazy day.

---

My doctor had this very simple, nice looking, laptop desk in his office. It's lightweight and had nice rolling action. I suggested that if he told me where he got it, I wouldn't have to steal his. He thought that was totally fair and allowed that his source was Office Depot so I swung by on my way home and, of course, they did not have it. So, online I went. Free shipping and it will be here on Monday but no tracking number. I kind of feel cheated.

---

The old TV is being picked up on Monday morning. Nice. The returned TV has yet to get to Amazon so the refund has yet to hit my credit card. It's not a huge deal. I did get Amazon to guess that it will most likely be all settled by February 19 which should make the billing cycle of the credit card. I don't want to pay the credit card and then get this giant credit added. Although, that would not be tragic, just annoying.

---

I have about an hour to kill and I think I'm going to go ahead and wander downtown and kill it down there... I think I'll start at Daiso - always good entertainment.

I love conveyor belt sushi. You can have a snack or a giant meal and you don't have to decide until the very last minute. It can be a very cheap meal and it's very tasty.

I stopped here after The King's Speech. I thought it was an ok movie but I think I suffered from expectations set too high. Several times during the movie I wished for an old fashioned watch so I could see how much of it was left.

The walk home was oh so soggy but my dried up noes was grateful. Time to sit down and bear up.

One of the reasons for a new TV was to get one that was easier to see but, before I bought I went to Las Vegas where I quickly discovered that I could see more easily and comfortably without my contact lens. Then when I got home, I could even see the TV better without said lens so I never put it back in.

But, gradually, it became more an more uncomfortable to see computer screens. Since I spend a fair amount of time on computer screens being able to see them is kind of important.

Tonight I gave up and slapped that contact back in and wow. Good. I can see the computer screens but... also... I can see the new TV way better than the old one. Win win. Whew.

And I spent some quality time with the internet functions of my TV. Samsung does not make it easy but I finally cracked the code and got into everything that was interesting to me. I discovered that, honestly, none of it is interesting to me. The Samsung internet apps are fairly lame and very slow (ethernet connected). The set also has Yahoo! TV widgets and they are a little more practical (it's on top of the screen or to the side, so you can still watch TV while you look at Twitter, or news or whatever. Also you can have it as a kind of crawl along the bottom.

Honestly, I can't see using any of it much.

But, the TV itself is just wonderful so I'm happy with the purchase and so glad I didn't keep the 55 incher.
