TV eyes

One of the reasons for a new TV was to get one that was easier to see but, before I bought I went to Las Vegas where I quickly discovered that I could see more easily and comfortably without my contact lens. Then when I got home, I could even see the TV better without said lens so I never put it back in.

But, gradually, it became more an more uncomfortable to see computer screens. Since I spend a fair amount of time on computer screens being able to see them is kind of important.

Tonight I gave up and slapped that contact back in and wow. Good. I can see the computer screens but... also... I can see the new TV way better than the old one. Win win. Whew.

And I spent some quality time with the internet functions of my TV. Samsung does not make it easy but I finally cracked the code and got into everything that was interesting to me. I discovered that, honestly, none of it is interesting to me. The Samsung internet apps are fairly lame and very slow (ethernet connected). The set also has Yahoo! TV widgets and they are a little more practical (it's on top of the screen or to the side, so you can still watch TV while you look at Twitter, or news or whatever. Also you can have it as a kind of crawl along the bottom.

Honestly, I can't see using any of it much.

But, the TV itself is just wonderful so I'm happy with the purchase and so glad I didn't keep the 55 incher.

“Samsung does not make it easy”

Amen, sister! We just got a new Samsung flatscreen a couple days ago. Why don't they include a motherfudging* manual?! Is that so motherfudging much to ask?!

* I'm pretty sure this term is a Moss-ism, no?

1. My tv actually *came* with a manual that did not help one single bit.

[exasperated sigh]

2. I do believe that motherfudging is, indeed, a Moss approved expression.

You know your IT!

3. Do not tell Moss but Roy is two timing him. I saw him last night playing an off-his-meds bi-polar drifter on Doc Martin. Who's name was Roy. It felt like an alternate universe.

I saw that one! And yes, surreal!!
