Today was the most frustrating work day I've had in a while and I've had some doozies. But, it ended up being one of the best that I've had in a while! I barely had time to look up. When the Ride the Duck Duck blew a tire that sounded like a cannon just outside my window, I barely stop to wonder if we were under siege.
The building manager later told me he happened to be on the street when it happened. The mounted police unit had just pulled up and the cops were getting out of the truck to go around to back to get the horses out for their afternoon exercise, when it happened. One of the cops drew his piece. When he realized what the noise was, Scott said he put it back in a hurry.
At 4:30, I quit work and left. I was meeting
machupicchu for a movie and pizza before hand if I could get there in time. I took the wrong bus. It left me off at the bottom of a very steep hill about a mile from the pizza place. I clearly made up for missing Marci's class. The pizza was great and then we went to a screening of The Music Never Stopped.
If you are 50 or older, seriously put this on your list. I was sucked in from the first minute to the last. Glued to the screen and the story. It was amazing.
machupicchu, who is nearly 35 did not find it as compelling. It probably does have a limited audience but wow.
When I got home there were a couple of really really good pieces of work news waiting for me in my inbox. So I am going to drop into bed with a smile on my face.
