Jun. 4th, 2011 08:16 amSo my game plan was to get up early this morning and do the work I promised to do. I got up early only to find an email that the work had been postponed until Monday. Of course.
It would have been nice to have slept in a little but what.ev.er. I made a frittata to bake for a breakfast work break so I won't be going out to breakfast this morning. I do have a haircut appointment at noon.
The baseball game is an afternoon game and then, of course, there is the concert tonight... I do doubt if I'll be able to actually hear the music. Usually concert music gets to me as more indecipherable noise.
I do have one quick car errand and it just dawned on me that my best and maybe only reasonable window of getting the car out and back will be this morning so maybe getting up early will work out okdokey. Frittata baking now.

I'm blaming it on my brother
Jun. 4th, 2011 10:52 amThe folks in my brother's shop and I swap the occasional message via webcams and white boards. A week or so ago, his shop lost the black marker and started using a really light blue one and I couldn't read the messages. They rectified the situation immediately. But, when my good black marker started to fade, I knew I had to take fast action.
Office Max. New black marker. But, Office Max is just next door to Sears and I have been considering an upgrade to my Keurig. I want the kind that holds water and takes bigger cups. BUT, I have only one spot where I want it to go and that spot has a rather low clearance and I wanted to physically touch one and see if I could get water into it and still have it in my spot of choice.
Oh yes I can. Sears had a couple of models to choice from that did what I wanted and I was able to tell immediately that either would work in my spot. And discovered that I will no longer have to pour the water in anyway, the water holder comes off so I can run it under the tap.
So, I was standing there conjuring on which model when I thought hmmm that sale price looks pretty good. Whipped out my phone and logged onto Amazon and, sure enough, exactly the same price. I can have it delivered for free on Tuesday... Or... I can walk out the door with it now. Sears for the win!
And they had the coffee cup I like that I had never been able to find another of (except for the one my brother got for Christmas that was going to talk him out of - he's so safe now) and the cups were on sale, too!!
So, making a sign readable for my brother's shop = $150.
Oh and the sample pack had a tea k-kup so I was able to test out the ability to make iced tea which I drink a ton of. PERFECTION!
This means I can clear three things off my kitchen counter - the electric pitcher, the water pitcher and the original coffee maker! I love freed up counter space.
Oh, but wait, now I need more tea k-kups so shopping again...

Jun. 4th, 2011 03:27 pmThis was my third visit to this hair cutting place. The last time would have been the last but the guy did give me a nice cut and the bimbo at the reception desk said that if I booked my next appointment, it would be $17 instead of $22. What.ever.
The experience today was way less nicer than the last time which wasn't that nice. The haircut I got today took for.freakin' ever and was not even close to what I asked for. When I got back to the bimbo to pay, I discovered that $17 had turned into $26. "oh we changed policy.'
For the record, the place was American Cutting Company,, 1st and Marion. And, yes, I left word on Yelp.

4 hours til concert time and the parking lot line to get in is getting a little out of control. I can only see what looks to be about 750 people but the trucks are obscuring a good bit of the lines so hard to tell. The sun is out and frying those poor people. The sound check a while ago indicated that I may well get the full concert experience tonight.

I am quite delighted with my new coffee maker. I only had the one tea k-cup but a bunch of tea bags. I was thinking I could get one of those fill it yourself k-cups and empty out the tea bags to make tea. So I put the electric pot out in storage. And figured out that I could heat water on the stove or in the micro until I get one.

I'm more than a little embarrassed to admit that it was about an hour later when it dawned on me that I could just put the tea bag in the cup and run the machine without any k-cup in it to get quick boiling water.
I think I got some stupid cooties on me from the bimbo at the hair cutting place.

The Mariner game is not on TV so I'm listening to it on my phone. It's on AM radio and I don't have any AM radio that gets a signal in this house. But, hey, phone works great. But the Mariners are not quite winning. Or actually, not winning at all. So far.

The walk to the hair cutter place was fine. It's about 3/4ths of a mile. My leg is getting better every day. It's no longer painful when Travis rubs up against it. Even the numb part is getting less numb. I haven't decided about tomorrow - walk or not? I think it will depend a lot on the sun. If the sun is out and hot, I may just get in the car and go back over to the Skylark in West Seattle. I haven't been there in for ages mainly because I can't walk there and it's hard to drive there these days with all the construction but if the sun is out in the morning, I may just go get me one of their exceptional bloody marys.
