Waiting for the fix

I got up this morning and the first thing that I discovered was that a kickoff meeting (the start of a week or so of intense work) is not today but tomorrow. That is a huge relief. So now instead of calling into a conference call, I can call into my doctor and see about getting him to fix this shit. Now even the horrible tasting codine cough syrup isn't working. Travis and Betty were both pretty pissed at being kept up half the night with coughing.

His office opens at 8:30 and, once again, I'll be one of the first customers this week.

I scored an 11:45 appointment. It means no swimming today but I'm not sure I have enough energy anyway.

Adventures in doctoring

I love my doctor. I praised him on his marketing efforts and allowed as how he has proven he knows how to get repeat business but now I wanted a CURE! He listened to my chest and said that what he heard last week was gone so there's progress oh and my oxygen number is up! Not perfect yet, but better than last week.

I showed him how I was doing the inhaler and he allowed as how I was doing it totally wrong. He tried to show me how to do it right but, apparently, I am inhaler impaired. So now I have a spacer. And I know how to use it!

He had me to this puff test and I failed miserably. "Your numbers stink!"

They hooked me up to a nebulizer for a while and then tried again. Still stink.

So now I have prednizone. And a date to see him next Monday. Except he said it I was feeling 100% by then I could cancel. I am all over that option.

The pharmacists told me the prednizone had to be taken with food and she advised, taken in the morning as it might keep me up at night. "So you might want to wait until tomorrow to start it. Depending on how quickly you want it to start working."

?????? Now, you fool. I want it to start working now!

So I've just taken it and am eating lunch and if it keeps me awake, I'll deal.

All afternoon, I have been sitting in front of one computer or another and breathing nicely, thank you.

Then I got bold. I got up and folded the laundry, cleaned off the kitchen counter, dropped off a magazine down the hall at Ann's, went down the the car to get something, checked the mail and came back up here and then sat down again and tried to breathe but really just coughed for about 20 minutes.

No moving or coughing since and breathing fine. Sigh.

It's been 3 weeks since Sheri the interior designer said she was interested in putting together some ideas and plans for my living room project. I did not ask when and she did not volunteer. Happily, I don't care - when or really if.
