Before I get up...
Jun. 17th, 2012 08:33 amI'm still in bed. I have coffee. The cats are sleeping off their breakfast. I love Sunday mornings.
Last night, while the Mariners were winning - they are still playing the team with the worst road record so they were bound to squeak in one win - I recabled my computers.
Now that the skirt that hides the cables is fixed, I was finally able to get in there and sort stuff out. I redid all the wires and cable on the two computers and three monitors and got they all done the way they should be and looking fine. Finally. I'm really happy with how it all looks. Plus, it's even more functional than I had planned. The skinny desk is really plenty of work room and the bench I had made is just perfect for working at the desk. It was a long slog but it was totally worth it.
Today will start with brunch in just a bit. I found a new (to me) place that is accessible (not dependent on any of the roads closed this weekend or near any of the major festivities). It also opens early so I can, hopefully, even avoid Father's day eaters.
I really have no plans for the rest of the day. Baseball, knitting, reading.
My father died in 1999 and my mother in 2005. I have no children. And, as a person far more practical than sentimental, I am very appreciative of getting out of having to do anything on Mother's Day or Father's Day. My parents were great and I remember them both with great love all the time. But yeah for not having to do anything on these specific days.
Time now to get up and get out and back so those who do have to do things, can do without getting in my way!
