Interesting slant on things
Jan. 12th, 2014 08:56 amYears ago I was I bought two foam wedge pillows when they were on sale at Sears. I think they were something like $5 each. They are covered - one black and one lime green - in a nice fabric. I got them to lean against when I read in bed. One for my bed and one for the fish bed. They have worked great.
Night before last, I woke up too stuffed up to breathe and grabbed the one I had tossed to the floor and turned it around so I could sleep with my head elevated. It worked great. So last night, that's how I slept all night long and it was fabulous! I slept more soundly than I have in a long time.
The whole adjustable bed thing is looking more and more wonderful. BUT if I can't find exactly what I want, this wedge might work just as well anyway. Nice to have options that work!
First today there will be breakfast. I could go out and then go on to the bed store but I think I'll just fix it here myself. I have the raw materials and the inclination so why not.
My foot is still swollen but not as much and it really only hurts when I press on it and even then not so much.
mrdreamjeans suggested that it might be gout but since it's not in a joint and been going on for nearly a week and not excruciating, I doubt it is but if it is, yeah, cause I know from experience, gout heals!

The Bed Report
Jan. 12th, 2014 02:42 pmI was pretty sure I was at the right place. Locally owned, been around since the dawn of time. Spectacular Yelp reviews... Then, when I got there, I ran into the only person I know who runs a bed and breakfast and she says she's been using them for all her bedding needs since forever.
Matt was a great guide. I found exactly what I want, except now I'm not sure I want it. Yet. Turns out I can replace ONLY my mattress with an adjustable bed and keep my frame. BUT, I'm wondering if I want to trade in my double bed for a single bed. I did find a frame that I can get for a single bed that I like as well as the one I have. The adjustable part would all be the same. And, it turns out, the cost of both options is about the same.
----
Ok, my neighbor, Ann, just dropped by. She helped me lift the mattress so I could take photos of my frame's underpinings for Matt the mattress sales guy. She also talked me right out of a single bed. So that makes my decision easier.
We'll see. I want to sleep with the wedge some more. I'm just not sure I want a new mattress bad enough to spend that kind of money... yet.
