I've done my swim and had my coffee and internet and am contemplating my next move.

I got the paint to fix the behind the toilet situation so I'll probably get that done today.  I'm out of breakfast muffins so I'll probably make a batch of those today.

Ahhhh PAX. All these random semi-famous people in my twitter stream have been streaming into Seattle this week - posting pictures and tweets about visiting the city. We have a big jazz festival every year at Labor Day over at Seattle Center but these people were' particularly jazzy. But, just now, one of them mentioned PAX - the gaming convention which seems to get more huge every year and this year it's this weekend and it's huge.  Wow. There's a lot o' stuff going on in town this weekend.

Crap another bicyclist has been killed in city traffic a few blocks from here just now. On the one hand, I'm surprised, the way many of them operate in traffic, that more aren't killed every day. Just this morning, two times in the short two miles between here and the pool, I had different bicyclists turn in front of me suddenly. One, as is often the case, had no helmet on.  And a third one rode right through a red light at a busy intersection and that was just on my way home today.

Back to me. I had a nice encounter with neighbor Ann yesterday. I ran into her in the hallway and road down the elevator. She didn't beg for help, she didn't cry, she didn't make a racial/ethnic slur. We had a pleasant exchange. Nice. Hopefully, we've come to a place where we can be hallway friendly without her dropping in here with issues 4 times a week.

The baseball game is tonight and I really have no big plans for the weekend.

So I went to Main and Occidental to see what the 'new store' in my calendar was all about and WOW!!!  It's a sewing store!!! Fabric and patterns and notions but... it has a studio!!! Sew by the hour! Holy crap on a stick.

It's a beautiful store - Drygoods Design. It moved here from Ballard (a neighborhood about 10 miles north of here).

They have Bernina B215 machines. And a wall full o' tools.

Soooo those plans I was trying to noodle out about buying a new sewing machine and furniture so that I could have it easily accessible? Done! Except, I'll just rent, thankyouverymuch!!  They just opened this morning and the woman in charge was waiting on a million people so it wasn't a good time to ask questions. They are having an opening party next Friday. I'm there.

I stopped by the market on the way home and made another thrilling discovery. They have a bunch of high end breads and baked goods. And now they are selling day olds at 1/2 off!!!! Score. I got a salad for lunch and some melon for later and a nutella brioche for dessert and a french loaf of something delicious looking and a cookie. I love that place.

The bathroom painting went off without a hitch. When I was done, it was clear that either it was going to dry to the right color OR I was going to have to paint the wall.  I waited and, of course, painting the wall is not at all necessary. I paid $8 for the paint. I think I used about a nickel's worth or less.  But, it's all fixed now.

It's lovely - cool and cloudy but it's also way more humid than usual and it feels it. Still way better than hot and humid.

And... LJ

The changes to the new LJ friends feed page are great. I still wish they would let me remove the widget column so I could get a wider read of the actual entries, but at least I can now knock the font down a size or two so it's not too bad.  I'm giving it another go.

I do so love that they are so actively working on making better.
