Nov. 4th, 2014
I woke up this morning at 4:30 and never did really go back to sleep. At 5:30 I turned on the radio and at 6 I got up and made coffee and turned on the internet. Pretty soon it was already 8 am! Until I realized that I was looking at the one clock that needs manual resetting and it was only 7.
Weird morning so far and it's only 7:15. But, it's all fine.
It's a cold and windy and rainy morning out. And all that makes me feel so war and cozy and safe in my house. I love the feeling. Wearing layers of clothes and bundling under blankets. It's an especially wonderful feeling coming on the heels of the hot weather. The older I get the less tolerant I get of hot weather and the more appreciative I am of cozy.
Also Zoey the cat is a lot snugglier.
Today's project is going to be phone swapping. I am lucky enough to have two very good phones. I've been using the MotoX for about a year but I think it's time to switch back to the Nexus 5. I only keep one of their Sim cards paid up so I'll just move the paid one over to the Nexus 5.
The Moto X is smaller (which I like) and voice activated (I can turn it on and start playing music in the car without taking the phone out of my pocket).
BUT the Nexus 5 has wireless charging. (I have pseudo wireless charging added onto the Moto X but it doesn't work great.) And, it will soon be upgraded to the new android which will give it the save voice activation of the Moto X.
It may not stick if the bigger size gets to be a bother. But if that happens, I'll just swap back.
I will work all this exciting action around my 11 am swim. Gosh! What a big day!

Miscellaneous stuff
Nov. 4th, 2014 05:22 pmThe day was good. My old new phone is fun. The switch was easy and it's fun to have the stuff that the other one doesn't have and I don't yet miss the missing stuff. So... good.
----
My swim was good. The pool population was way down which was strange but nice.
---
The skin on my hands and arms looks like the skin of my grandmother who, when I was little, was 4580 years old. Or so I thought. She was probably 65, like me. But while old skin looked fine on her, it's really bumming me out seeing it on me.
---
I remembered this morning that today - November 4 - was my wedding anniversary. I can never remember the year. I thought it was 1980 but that was a Tuesday and I'm sure we didn't get married on a Tuesday. 1979 was a Sunday and that's more like it. 1978 was too early. So I'm sure it must have been 1979. So that would make our divorce - or separation actually - 1981 in January. Maybe. None of that sounds really right, though. I think the years are wrong or maybe the date. I have no way to check. I doubt my ex husband knows. If he's still alive. He would be 86 and it was not his first or his last marriage.
---
I keep starting new crochet projects and not finishing many. Today, in the mail, I got some really fun yarn. It's acrylic and soft and fat. The Carmex is for size comparison. So, of course, I started a new project. A high necked kind of poncho/capelet to wear while I'm watching TV and my neck gets cold. Wonder if this will get finished??
