Yesterday was an early swim day. When the alarm went off at 6, I was dead out, in a coma, not anywhere near conscientiousness. This morning, with nothing doing until my swim at 11, I woke up - wide awake - at 6. It's a fun party trick my sleep loves to do.

I have a new telephone stalker. I cannot get Google Voice to successfully ignore or send to voicemail any Unknown Caller. It's a real pain in the ass. I'm sure it's because of the webcams. I am going to have to shut them down, I think. It's been a good run but one of these stalkers could get all pissy and decide to break into my network and compromise my cyber stuff. While that would not be fatal, it would be just a huge major PIA and, likely costly.

And talking about annoying stuff, the two NPR stations in Seattle are getting ready for the pledge drive. They both have gotten into the habit of devoting a good bit of air time in the month before the drive to begging for money. Plus, they are both going downhill in terms of quality on air staff. So today, I'm officially switching to KRCW in L.A. Their on air talent is actually, well, talented. Plus I get to hear and not care about their traffic issues which amuses me. I listen to NPR usually a couple of hours every morning. Way better to start my day amused rather than annoyed.

Next up is breakfast and then probably a walk - my new plan is to walk in such a way that I can end at 10 minutes or go to 20 if my lungs allow. Happily my neighborhood is flat and very walkable so I have options. I plan to use them.

Swim at 11 and then maybe some baseball and knitting. Also, I'm in the middle of an excellent novel - The Husband's Secret by Liane Moriarty. I may have to spend some time with it as I'm really curious as to what happens next!

Going out for a 10 minute walk and then coming home and syncing the Shine to discover, it was a 20 minute walk! Done for the day!!

The more I think about it, the more I think that pulmonologist is pretty much a genius. If he had told me to walk 30 minutes a day, I probably would never get around to it. If he had told me 15 or 10 minutes, I'd think 'too little to really even count, why bother'. 20 minutes is the total sweet spot of doability. He's one smart lung guy.
