Last July, I posted one of my two internet radios for sale on Amazon. They are great radios with a fabulous sound but they have been out of production now for years and there are much better options out there for my needs. So I put one of them up for sale for $250. I didn't really think it would sell but it cost me nothing to list it so I listed it and forgot it. Damn if that thing didn't get a buyer this morning!! Nice.

I need to package it up. I may have to go down to the dumpster and recycle some shipping supplies. Then I think I'll run it to the post office. It's heavy enough so that USP and USPS are probably the same price. Maybe I'll just whisk it over to Office Depot. They can send it either way so I'll let them pick the cheapest.

I was dead asleep when the alarm went off this morning. I got right up, checked the internet, caught some news of the day and hit the road to the pool. As I was getting into my car, I thought, why in the hell didn't I just go back to sleep? I have no place I have to be and no reason to get there at any particular time. I'll soon begin my 4th year of retirement and still, I have some work to do on the basic skills involved.

The house cleaner is due here today which will be nice. I should really run the vacuum myself in the sewing room every couple of days but I don't. And I love the way the kitchen looks after her visit.

Otherwise it promises to be a regular day of dolls and baseball and stuff.

And more

Turns out I had a medium USPS flat rate box and... the heavy radio fit right into it! So I got some bubble wrap from the recycling bins and box it up and walked it over to the post office. And picked up another medium USPS flat rate box. I listed the other radio on Amazon. Why not?!

There's a great guy who has sold Real Change (homeless newspaper) on this one corner for years and years. Long ago he gave me a start by connecting me to my 'cute little green car'. He was there this morning and got me again. "Susan! I haven't seen you in a long time! I was getting worried but you look fine and dandy this morning!" I think his name is John but I honestly don't know and sure didn't know he knew my name! Wild.

I have one foot that is wonky. It get tendenitus quickly from wearing some shoes (which I no longer wear). Monday morning I woke up with a bad cramp in that foot. And it gets some better and then some worse. It finally dawned on me this morning that it might be the Crocs I started wearing when the weather got warmer. Doh. They are different than my winter Crocs. There is one style of Skeecher walkers which always makes my feet feel better (happily, the minute I realized this, I ordered 3 more pair and they promptly took them out of production!). I put on the Skeechers to walk to the post office and my foot feels 100% better already! lesson learned.

I just got an email from a Google beta program I signed up for and never did anything about. They are giving me 3 months of free NY Times. OK! I'll take that. I love reading the NY Times but I'm too cheap to pay for it. This is perfect.

The house cleaner is cleaning away. I'm going to go make a doll.

I've now had this dinner about 6 times in the last 10 days. It's my new favorite (obviously).

1 chicken thigh
1 bag of Pepperidge Farm Herb Seasoned stuffing*
1 very small baked potato
1 generous handful of sugar snap peas
butter
Morton's Nature's Seasons**

* Any of their dry stuffing will work fine, or even just breadcrumbs probably
** this is basically a granular collection of salt, pepper, onion, garlic, celery, and parsley. I use it on nearly everything savory.

1. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees.
2. In a baking dish a little bigger than the chicken thigh, I sprinkle about 1/2-3/4" inch of the stuffing. Then I add probably 2 tablespoons of water (would be chicken stock if I had any open). I plop the thigh on this and then stick a pat of butter between the chicken meat and the skin. And sprinkle it liberally with the Nature's Seasons.
3. I poke holes in the potato with a fork.
4. I stick both of these in the oven for about 45ish minutes. (I think an hour wouldn't kill it.)
5. When the chicken is about done, I put a pat of butter into a small fry pan with another liberal sprinkling of Nature's Seasons. When melted I toss in the peas and saute them on high while I plate the chicken potato and dressing. Add the peas when heated all the way through and dinner is served!!!

NOTE: In case it isn't patently obvious, this is not a dinner for anyone hoping to lose weight and or those who have religious differences with butter. But it totally works for me and is stupid easy and delicious!
