The people waiting in line to get their bracelet numbers yesterday so they could know where to stand in line for tickets today left a huge trashy mess all over the block which the stadium, apparently, is in no hurry to clean up. And today's lines are starting to form all ready.

Plus there is a big TV commercial being filmed all day tomorrow in the stadium parking lot and the road my garage empties out on. They were already there this morning, set up next door getting ready for tomorrow.

Lot's o' action in the 'hood. And it's hot out already. I guess Summer is really here. Happily it's only for about 6 weeks. Whew.

I had a delicious bit of financial irony happen this morning. My parents left some money to each grandchild to be doled out over the 4 years after high school. The last payment is going out next month. My financial advisor sends the actual check and this morning he allowed as how right now selling some MacDonald's stock to fund the check makes the most sense. So sweet. This youngest grandchild is my sister's daughter. My sister is the biggest food snob on the planet. She'd come closer to joining the NRA than eating anything from McDonald's. I'm having some great satisfaction over this particular final check. She'll never know it's origin story but I do.

When Amazon had it's July Prime Day, I bought a WaterPic. I've been using it religiously every day. I'd been thinking that it was pretty much a waste of money and effort not to mention a messy daily face shower. Until last night. Last night I was doing my waterpicking when I gynormous rock of plaque came out along with a couple of others. I now have spaces between my teeth at the gum line that I've only had on the few times I've had my teeth professionally cleaned. So wow. Guess maybe those nightly face showers are not a waste after all.

I've had some issues with my lower back recently. I'm sure it's related to poor sitting and standing posture and way too much of the former. Today, after swimming my laps, I did some water exercises - running and stretching out my legs and spine. I actually think it may have helped. Today will be a good test because there is no way in hell I'm going outside. I have a couple of CD's to pick up at the library but I think even those will wait until tomorrow. Too hot.

So the ball chair is going back to Amazon. It's not horrible but it's not helping and it's too big and bulky and takes up too much valuable real estate to not be helping. So back it goes. I disassembled it all and stuffed it back into the carton (which I had kept) and went to print out the label.

And then had a massive battle with the printer. I won, but, to show that all is not forgiven, the damn thing is now spitting out printed pages I no longer want or need. It's kind of cracking me up.

I think what happened was that it dropped off the network and I didn't notice then when it got back onto the network, it got cranky and I was in a hurry so I grabbed a printer cable and hard wired the damn thing to my windows laptop. Of course, windows had to think and whirl and look and ask a zillion questions and the printer had to reboot and then it installed to instances of the printer. Holy Fucking Christ.

Finally I got a damn label. I went back into cloud printing and non cloud printing and deleted all the failed print jobs but, apparently, that wasn't good enough because it's still spitting them out... spitefully.

Now if the UPS guy will just pick up the box when he makes today's deliveries. Sometimes he does and sometimes he doesn't. Oh well. I'm expecting a delivery so I'll find out when it gets here and I go down and check.

This is what a spiteful printer does.

Little victories... I got two 10 pound boxes of stuffing delivered and have room in the closet for both.

I got the email that my UPS package was delivered and when I went to get it, I saw the UPS guy had not taken the ball chair. BUT I could still see his truck so I went to find him. Turns out he had gone upstairs to deliver a package that needed signing and was going to pick it up on the way back. He was so sorry I had to walk all the way outside and across the street! He beeped it in immediately (often they wait until the end of the day) and so, by the time I got back upstairs, Amazon had refunded my money!

My brother found a how to fix my Pfister faucet leak on YouTube that looks like maybe even I could do it. So I went to the Pfister site to get the exact part number and discovered that my faucet leak may be covered under warranty. So now I have a case number... and a drip.

Tomorrow morning (between 8-10) the guy is supposed to come reinstall or install correctly the oven I bought 2 months ago and they have installed incorrectly twice. I'm fairly confident he'll show up. I'm not at all confident he'll do the job to completion. It does mean I need to get to the pool, swim and get home at least 15-20 minutes earlier than usual. Totally doable.

No baseball tonight but I do have a new episode of Vera waiting on TiVo.
