Last week, I made cracks about how Boston Red Sox fans had trouble handling a loss and I think maybe I'd might want to go back and chew on those words a bit. Night before last we lost. Last night we won. And, as I was going to sleep, it dawned on me how much my moods match the game result. I am NOT a Red Sox fan but maybe I care as much just not as loudly.
At my age, (67) should my moods be dictated by a game? Particularly a game only men are allowed to play? Seems like I should be above all that. Oh well.
I totally nailed the quick and easy breakfast burrito this morning.

  • Glass bowl.

  • Tablespoon+ of bacon bits from the freezer.

  • Nuked for 60+ seconds (until they were sizzling)

  • Topped them with maybe a 4th cup of shredded cheese

  • Added 1 egg, salt and pepper, and whisked briskly until all mixed.

  • Nuked for 60 seconds.

  • Stirred

  • Nuked for 30 seconds.

  • Plopped onto 10" flour tortilla and rolled 'er up.

Perfect!!

Today is curtain day. And there will likely be a doll made.

Swim Tunes

It dawned on me while I was swimming this morning that I have a rather odd and probably telling list of songs in my swim list. 90% of them never change. I delete some now and again and add others* but mostly what I listen to lap after lap has remained the same for a few years now.

*Right now there is way too much Miranda Lambert. I like some of her stuff but I need to replace a lot of it. And as new stuff is released - a Brandy Clark album or if Shane MacAnally ever does another one - I'll add it. I also swap out the ABBA's for different ABBA's and same for Queen.

I leave the current list here for posterity.

[livejournal.com profile] ljtourist is a great curtain hanger. For the record.

These things were not only faded but also disgustingly full of dust and dirt.

There were two panels here and a second set on the other end of the terrace. They all all now in the dumpster with an old toilet seat that was hiding behind the purple curtains. No idea why I hung on to it. The dumpster was happy to take it off my hands.

The painters cloths were made to be my curtains. One for each end of the terrace. No sewing needed. They are the perfect length and the perfect width and since it's not two panels they will hang in place far better than the narrow panels which often got whipped open by wind.

And the lighter color makes the terrace seem far more open.

I feel like I've been fretting over the curtain issue since forever and now it is has just the best fix ever PLUS, it's replicable.

After curtain hanging Frank and I wandered through the 'hood to Tats for a late lunch and it was massively delicious. The temperature today is a little warm but not hot enough for the a/c and there's a nice breeze if you are outside walking.

Just a nice nice day all around. Now I think I'm going to watch the Olympics Opening Ceremony and other stuff while I knit some.

The doll du jour and bear from this morning:

The adoption lady let me know, in the nicest way possible, that she really could use more bears so there will be a solid bear production focus this month. I need to up my bear game.
