One foot in front of the other. I am grateful to live in a place where if there are any Trump lovers, they are under cover and it is safe to assume that everyone you see this week is as bummed about this state of events as you are. Kind of comforting in it's own little ostrich way.

I think I'd go nuts without swimming. I really do. It gets me out of bed. It gives me a solid hour of just doing without thinking about anything specific. It's a great way to get the day started and makes the rest of the day better. For me.

I just got a text from the post office that my package is out for delivery. This is very interesting because they actually delivered the package yesterday. It's doll stuff from Etsy. But, looking at the tracking number detail, they clearly believe that there it will be arriving today. This could be interesting. I'll get another text when "it" is delivered.

My oil sprayer arrived. Can't wait to try it. My new mirrored goggles arrived as well. They have a very soft fit. I also can't wait to try them out. That sun, when it hits the water, is startling and not comfortable.

This morning I want to give the dish drainer/rack a good wash then stick it in storage. I'm going to try to do without in hopes it will help declutter the kitchen. I think I can get by with just a mat. It will mean putting the cleaned dishes away immediately which is also good.

There will be sewing today and really that's about all the plans I have right now. Could change. Or not. I'm cool either way.

I just did another pot sticker lunch only this time with the oil sprayer.

Without oil was good - with is MUCH better. I took a picture but, oddly, the photo does not show the difference. The tongue knows, though. I got a Mitso sprayer which is a weird little contraption. You put the oil in (in my case, regular canola) and then you put it back together and then you have to pump it - put the special lid on and just whomp it up and down 10 times before you spray - every time. But, heck, it works. I sprayed the pan a little and then put the pot stickers down and sprayed them. I'm guessing I used less than a teaspoon of oil. It vastly improved the looks and the taste.

I literally just drew smiles on a few dozen doll faces. It made me smile.

I wish I could pass it on. While I understand how and why so many are bummed, I'm really now getting a little weary of the blaming and the bashing and the fear mongering. The man has actually done very little so far. Based on what how often he contradicted himself in the campaign, we honestly have zero idea what he's going to do as president. Plus, like all presidents, what he wants to do and what he's able two do are two entirely different buckets.

I was personally horrified when he was nominated if only because I could not stand the idea of having to look at and hear him through the campaign. Now I've got 4 years of it. And, probably 8 unless he gets tired of the job and quits at 4. He might very well be the last president of my lifetime and I'm sure not happy about that.

I'm sure, like all presidents - even Obama who I thought was the greatest - he's going to disappoint me and maybe often and maybe horribly. And when he does I may well bitch, moan and blame so I need to pace myself.

Yes, it's horrible.

But, my wallowing in despair ain't going to fix it. So I'm drawing smiles on faces and making Christmas dolls. I really don't like doing dolls tied to one time of the year and I donated a lot of Halloween fabric to Goodwill but my last fabric bundle had this one Christmas fabric with enough for two dolls so what the heck.
