Yuck. I hate getting gas into the car. Hate it. Today I put the nozzle in and pulled up the little hook thing and took my hand away and the nozzle speweed gas everywhere. I grabbed it and turned it off and tried again and it did the same FUCKING thing. Now I think I will never not smell like gasolene. My car is in the garage with the windows open. I'm goinog to take some Fabreze down there in a little bit. My clothes are in the washing machine now. I hate hate hate getting gas into the car. If I had a way to charge an electric car, I'd buy one today.  But the condo won't allow it.

Until the gas incident the day was going pretty well. I got to the city pool just before they opened up the lanes. It's such a nice pool. I really wish it was closer and had better hours.  I only had to share my lane with one person and she was very gratious. So it was a really nice swim. It's fun to swim in a pool with a real deep end.  Monday-Friday, they have lap hours from noon-2:30. The not quite as nice but way closer pool has lap hours from 11-1:30. I figure those will be my go tos next week.  I hate swimming in the middle of the day but it's better than no swimming at all.

The pool today is across the street from a Dollar Store so I treated myself. I just love wandering around a dollar store. I sing to myself 'it's only a dollar!! tra la!' the whole time and fill my bag. When the bag is full, I'm done. Today's bag was $24 dollars worth which is more than usual and well worth it.

Then a quick stop at the grocery store and then on to The Gasolene Incident.

Time for some lunch and then some sewing. I've got no reason to go out again until tomorrow which is fine and dandy by me!

Oh here's a bear that got finished but didn't get into a journal entry yet:

I am so enjoying the TV show Good Behavior. For some reason I looked up the writer and then looked for other novels he has written and ended up listening to Blake Crouch's Locked Doors. Turns out it is a sequel. I think the first one wasn't on Audible and this one was which is why I picked it up. It's a good thing I did because probably had I read the first one, I'd have never finished it, much less read this one. (It's not that good.)

BUT, the book is about a novelist who ran away after his life was ruined and he lived in a cabin in the woods - isolated from everyone EXCEPT... his friends on Live Journal!! The part I was reading last night was all about how he filled his social life with the people he met on Live Journal and they sustained him nicely in his isolation.

The book was published in 2005. I joined LJ in 2002 and it was rockin'. I'm guessing Blake Crouch was there then. Wild.

The gas smell is gone. My clothes got washed. Miraculously, I managed to avoid getting it on my shoes (which were crocs with holes and I didn't even get it on my croc socks!). I did go down to the car. It had been in the garage for an hour with the windows open and it no longer smelled either. Whew. Dodged a bullet there.

I ordered a $6 band on Amazon today and at checkout it showed $3.50 off. Score. So I ordered 2 more but Amazon is having a very hard day. Products appearing and disappearing. Pages loading like molasses. Information changing on the fly. I finally got the orders in but woo. What a trip that was. I also had a return to process and got that done. I hope Jeff Bezos isn't trying to order anything today. Heads will be rolling for sure if he sees this.

I got the laundry finished and folded and put away. I got all my dollar store purchases put away and took the trash down to the dumpsters. and then I made a doll and now I'm going to watch some TV and knit! Not a bad day at all.
