99% of my days for the last 3 years have started out with a swim. Today did not and it's really weird. I will probably go to the city pool that is closest to me at 11 when it opens for lap swim. I also need to swing by the pharmacy to pick up that prescription.

Yesterday, at Trader Joe's, I spied a little tub of holandaise sauce in their dairy section. It might well be something they've had for years but I had never seen it before. I love holandaise sauce. But no way in hell would I ever make any from scratch. (yeah, I know it's easy... still not doin' it).

Every morning when I come home from my swim, I scramble an egg with cheese (and sometimes avocado or bacon) in the microwave and roll it into a burrito. This morning I tried just egg and holandaise. The holandaise was quite decent but it didn't work with with burrito egg. I've got other plans for the sauce, though. What a brilliant idea... a tub of holandaise.

Time now to get to the sewing machine - especially if I want to work in a really long lunch/swim/errand break.

Ohhhh just saw on Twitter that a car kerfuffle (one vehicle actually turned all the way around in a lane on the bridge) has traffic backed up and my drive home from the pool this morning would have been far worse instead of far better. Saved from myself. Nice.

I do pretty much the same thing the same way every day. And I like it. But the broken pool heater fucked that up. So today my day is comprised of the same stuff but shuffled all around and what a difference it makes.

Usually I get up, check email and LJ and then go swimming. Then I come home, have breakfast, make a doll, eat lunch, make another doll, and by now it's 3ish and I futz around, til dinner, watch TV and make bears.

Today, I got up, checked email and LJ and had breakfast. The I made 3 dolls and then it was 10:30 and I left for the pool. I had a nice swim, came home, had lunch and it's only 1:30! It's like I got two extra hours and I don't know where they came from. Weird.

Swimming at the city pool was ok. At least it was heated. I had a slow woman with flappy arms in my lane for about half the time. She kept flapping me every time we passed each other. And the parking is all fucked up until January. So... I'll be ready to get back to the gym the minute they get that sucker fixed. I'll call again later this afternoon for an update.

There's a fairly decent fried chicken place across from the pool so I stopped in and got some. My thought was to have it for dinner. But, I was too hungry so it was lunch. Dinner will be more like a snack, I suspect. I cannot imagine I'll be hungry again any time soon.

I also remembered to pick up the prescription. Score!

I want to see The Dressmaker. No one is renting it and purchase is in the neighborhood of $15 and I'm too cheap. BUT, today I got a half price coupon for a Google movie stream so... Score! This will be a nice little Christmas watch since I'm running out of TiVo fodder.

I saw my neighbor in the elevator earlier and he said he's bringing me a pie this afternoon. The is also probably another score.

I may go cut out some doll pieces or just futz the afternoon away. This is why I like all the days the same. I'm no good at recreating each one!

5 pm today:

LA Fitness

Yes, I'm calling to get an update on the pool.

The pool heater is broken so it's 77 degrees. It's open for swimming.

I understand. I'm sorry I wasn't more clear. Is there any update on when it might be warmer?

We have some parts to fix it but it's still broken.

Ok. Is there any news on when it might get fixed enough to be warmer?

Maybe tomorrow. Maybe in a couple of days.

Ok, I'll call back then, thank you.

Oh! Ok bye!

I did think to check their app to see if they had canceled their aqua fit classes. Yep. Canceled today, tomorrow and Wednesday. Thursday's still on, tho... hoping...

Nice afternoon, though. I think tomorrow, I'll go to the city pool south of here at noon and see how the mid-day lap swim situation is there.
