Amazing quiet

This morning it was cool enough to turn off the air conditioner. And my first thought was oh how wonderful it is to be rid of that droning. My second thought was fuck, I'd forgotten how loud the ice maker is when the air conditioner noise isn't covering it up.

Oh well. It's still lovely to hear the sounds of outside.

I leave for the game in 45 minutes and I'm still not sure what to wear/take. It's supposed to rain a little for most of the game so the roof will be closed and the high will be 68 degrees. But, if there's a good breeze it could get chilly. I think I'll just wear my Mariner bowling shirt and take a long sleeved t-shirt that I can put on under it, with me. The sun is out now but that's probably not going to last. At least I hope not.

I'm really ready for a bloody mary and that opulent buffet. And I'd be delighted if we didn't lose... again.

I just saw where Nancy Purl has written a novel! The audible version is out in September and I pre-ordered a copy. I don't always agree with her on specific books but some of the best books I've ever read, I picked up because she said to. I can't wait to hear what she's done. Sadly she's the reader on the audio version and I am not a fan of writer/readers but at least I know her voice.

The blessed cool

Turns out that most of my guesses of what to wear to the game today would have been correct guesses. We got a tiny bit of rain, a little sun, a nice breeze and some clouds. I got too hot for about 10 minutes and too cold for about 10 minutes and the rest of the time was perfect.

We totally lost the game but it was still really enjoyable and I had two of the best bloody marys ever. And the really smart young woman I've sat next to before was there again and just as smart. The perfect baseball game companion.

The A/C was off all day and it's still 75 degrees in here which is what I keep is the temperature I shoot for with the A/C on. It will warm up again but I'm sure enjoying this now.

I have good TV to watch tonight and lemon cake for dinner/dessert. I thought I had underbaked the Perfect Size Cake but it turned out perfectly yummy. I had way too much to eat at the ballgame, so cake might be both my dinner and my dessert.
