The Keurig behaved perfectly this morning. Whew. And Bridget was very delighted at her lanyard and told me that she goes in to get her new badge on Tuesday. So today's starting off much better than yesterday.

I have had a couple of whole days with no air conditioning needed which is lovely.e As I sit here now, with the a/c off and the door open at 8:15 am, it's 72 degrees in here which is perfectly acceptable. Sunday is bringing in the absolute end to Summer. After Saturday there are no days with temperatures over 70 degrees. YAHOOOOOO!!! So I think maybe Saturday, or for sure Sunday, the air conditioner will get packed up and rolled into its closet for the winter. A momentous occasion.

I'm thinking of a Costco run. I need gas and meat. BUT, I'm also thinking maybe I can hold off on that until Monday. I need to eat the stuff in my freezer or toss it.

I have been on a bread hunt recently. I got a new toaster. It is lightening fast. But it's short. And my favorite bread won't fit into it. So I branched out to find another favorite. Turns out bread, these days, is all pretty big. As they cut the calories and add visible grains (while also cutting flavor), the bread becomes very light, airy, fat and big. My speedy toaster needs 1980's bread. Pepperidge farm used to make the perfect size. Alas even their bread is too big now. I kept buying any loaf of smaller bread and they all had either the wrong taste or the wrong texture or both. I'd eat a few slices, toast a few slices and put the rest in the freezer. I need to toss all those suckers out.

So now I'm back to my favorites - Oroweat ryes - and I just cut off one end for the toaster.

My resolve for not getting the latest new Google phone is already crumbling. The announcement is on October 4. I guess my hope now is that they do not announce a new can't-do-without-it chromebook at the same time. I would love to believe that there's a limit to my frivolous spending on tech toys but I'm afraid there really isn't. My buy finger is already itchy.

I have a shirt to make today and I think I'm just going to get to it.

I made a shirt - that I really really like. It's a mid season shirt so it won't get too much wear but still, it's very comfy and I like it. I stole the fabric for the red trim from one of the t-shirts that Zoey likes to sleep on in the closet. There's still enough of the shirt that I don't think she'll notice.

And then, I cleaned up my hall rack and reordered my hanging closet.

I have hooks by the front door and they end up housing a mess of collected outer wear. How do people with more than one person in the house manage it??!! I'm only me and it's out of control! So I cleared off everything but 1 vest, 1 light weight jacket and 1 light weight coat.

I only have one closet for hanging stuff which is fine because I don't have that must stuff to hang but it was a mess. So I cleared it out and redistributed. In groups by type!! And, in the process, Goodwill got one shirt and one hoodie and two other pieces were marked as probably going the same way soon. Heck, just removing all the unused hangers cleared out a vast amount of real estate. Anyway now all is tidy tidy tidy.

Next up, after this entry, is the freezer.

Big News! I got an email from my mechanic at the Mercedes place.

We have no plans that I know of to drop the Smart car line @ this time. Last word I heard we were not going to get any more gas cars but they were going to electric only. Should not change our ability to service your car for the foreseeable future. Appreciate your patronage!

So my major freak out was for nothing. See? This is why I don't worry. I just don't have the skills to do it appropriately. Anyway, whew.

It's only 2 pm. I thought for sure most of the day was gone. This is excellent. I can clean out and reorg the freezer and still have time to fuck off before the game starts at 5. I am a productivity machine today!

So when Amira came yesterday, I finally remembered to tell her not to bother cleaning the bathtub/shower. I shower every day at the gym. So except for a place to hang my swim suits, I never use it at all.

She said in her most wonderful Bosnian accent "oh but I must dust in there to get Zoey hair out... her hair everywhere, oh my got. oh and behind the toilet? if I no get it out, you will be drown in cat hair!"

I laughed at the idea of being drowned in cat hair all day but mainly tried to get out of my brain, the visual of Zoey taking daily showers while I'm at the pool.

But the funniest is what I discovered this morning. She loves to check the doll/animal population when she's here. She looks over who's new and ohhs and ahhs over them every time. For a couple of weeks, I've had a finished bunny sitting on a chair that is in my line of sight for a lot of the day. It looked like this.

This morning I looked up to see this.

Now I laugh every time I see it.
