Yes, yes I did.

I realized yesterday that my bacon supply - strips and crumbles was getting perilously low. My bacon on of choice (both varieties) is the precooked at Costco. Plus, I could stand to hoard some more toilet paper and winter butter. I can't remember why going tomorrow is a problem. I know it's always dicey to go on Fridays and they do not have my precious Old People hours on weekends. My bacon supply wasn't going to make it until Monday without sacrifice...

SOOOO I got up, got treadmilled, got showered and dressed and hustled my ass to Costco. In at 9:05, out at 10:20. Got everything on my list plus two splurges. Sat-is-fact-ory!

I will so miss Costco Old People hours. Tons of parking availability, no cashier line, no one in the aisles. It's heaven.

I'm now set until next Wednesday when the house cleaner comes and I'll go grocery shopping then.

But, today, I have been out in the world-ish.

Also, I will not miss pandemic traffic - or lack of it. At all.

So, yesterday, at my whining at not finding shows to watch on TV, [livejournal.com profile] lifeinroseland gave me the most simple, the most obvious and the one trick I had never tried before. Google "what are the best shows on [insert streaming network]" Doh. So I started with HBO Max and hit a couple of excellent lists that were a mix of stuff I'd seen, stuff I'd rejected and stuff I'd never heard of before.

The winner du jour was The Righteous Gemstones. Fun and funny and a teensy bit dark. Great cast. And second season on the way.

I also used my slow ship Amazon bonus money to rent Ocean's 8. It didn't hurt and was pretty.

More of the same scheduled for today. After I go back down to the car to get my phone that I left there. I always do that. I can't figure out a good scheme for remembering. Black phone on black car seat or in black holder.

No biggie, I can round up the garbage and recycling and contribute to the dumpsters that live in the garage with my car. So it's not a total tragedy. hahahahaha.

Guess I'll get on that little chore right now. Oh and somebody's little box needs scooping.

He finally did it. He finally knocked over the stained glass fireplace screen. On the up side, it did not break so yeah!

Victor and his Spoils

The books I used to keep him from getting his paw behind it, did not work one little bit. Plus I think he just put his paws on top and bam!

So, I went to Plan G. It is now fastened to the fireplace with dental floss. And so far, not bad. I didn't spend a lot of time perfecting the scheme because in about a month, I'm going to have to remove everything in the fireplace. The HOA is sending round a chimney sweep for the Every Two Year cleaning. For now, however, the screen seems to be Biggie Proof. As if anything could be.

The Federal Reserve left interest rates unchanged which is read as indicator of very slow recovery and all my stocks are taking a dive. Oh well, easy come, easy go.

And, finally, my 'find' at Costco.

It is all sliced up very nicely just like in the picture. And there is a lot of it. $18.25. I figure probably 8 - 10 meals worth. Good for sandwiches, salads, heated as a main part of dinner. I think for lunch today, I'm going to make a mongolian kind of sauce (soy sauce, sugar, garlic, ginger and a little corn starch) and heat up the steak with some green onions and mushrooms over rice.

I laid out most of it on parchment paper in the freezer. I'll bag it all up when it gets stiff.

Actually, I'm pretty hungry now...
