Is it real or is it Memorex?

So Biggie's calming collar came yesterday afternoon and I'm sure I'm projecting or imaginating (my brother's favorite word when he was 4) but I swear it's working. He literally seems less wary and jumpy. So weird. But, heck. I'll take it!

He abandoned the napping pod that I got him for his birthday a week or so ago. Happily, it folds up for easy storage so I put it in the 'cat stuff that will be shiny and new again in a month pile' and now he's adopted the bed I made him behind me on the couch. I made it six months ago but he was never interested. This week he is. And now he's giving me his adorable snore.



Today's big event is laundry. And changing bed linen. Whop Woo! For dessert, I might just cut my fingernails down. They are getting too long to be practical.

Also probably a walk up the street to the smoked meat deli. Their instagram says they now have prosciutto mac and cheese. I cannot let that go untested.

The baseball game is at 4. And there will be crochet.

Productive!

All the laundry is done and put away. The bed has new linen. And the shower has a fresh shower curtain.



I have three of these hand painted shower curtains and I just looked up to see what she's done lately and have discovered that she's gone out of business. Just as well. I do not need four.

While I was waiting for the deli to open, I perused their website and discovered they have a lot of offerings I did not know about. Oh and the mac and cheese with with porchetta. I ordered up that plus meatballs. $20 total. My order was sitting on a table by the front door when I got there. Nice.

When I got home, I discovered that the mac and cheese is two large portions and there were 5 ginormous meatballs. They came in a little red sauce. I poured the sauce and one of the meatballs into one container and put it in the freezer. Then I boiled up some pasta and opened a jar of store spaghetti and made four meals from the rest. In the freezer and fridge now. I froze half the mac and cheese and baked the other half for lunch. It was delicious. What a score. 6.5 meals for $20?! Heck yeah.

Biggie has been overly affectionate all day. Except just now when he bit me. But, this time I know exactly why. He'd been nuzzling and I'd been petting him for a while. Then I stopped and started typing and that pissed him off so he bit me. And then he jumped away so I couldn't bite him back. I did spray him with water. But, I feel like honing in on a reason for biting, is progress. Assuming this continues, I'm going to contact Dr. Lewis at the vet's office. She said "there are several ways of dealing with this. we cannot have him biting you." Dr. Lewis, my hope.
