For years I have kept short term info in email drafts. In gmail, there is a drafts folder just under the inbox folder. I wrote notes - to no one - and kept them in there. The phone number to my backup phone which I can never remember, the list of things I want to do when my brother comes to visit, the list of household things I need help with, etc.

I've always had 4 or 5 notes in there and because I'm in my email a million times a day, the info stayed right there in my face. Periodically, like yesterday, I go through and cull out the old stuff and update the rest. Except yesterday I clearly did something wrong and now they are all gone except one. Where they went, I have no clue. They are not in trash. They are not in sent mail. They are just gone. fuck. That was a good system. Emphasis on was.

I'll go to Keep for those things now but I really liked my drafts idea.

I was trying to come up with a way to carry more shit/groceries on a scooter trip. I googled the crap out of different things and then finally hit on backpack! It needs a big old backpack that I can strap to the seat back. Also a bigger front basket but the backpack is a simple fix. I have a very small backpack and one on wheels. Neither of those are good solutions. I found one on Amazon that will likely work fine and is only $10 but I think this merits a trip to Goodwill to see what other things might work before I decide for sure. Plus steps outting.

I rolled over last night and upset Biggie. I could tell he wanted to bite me but he just kind of jutted out his head without opening his mouth. I nudged him off the bed and he was fine. He came back later. This morning, the time when he is most likely to chomp, he did not even try. I think we are making progress. I sure hope so.

Time to shower and dress and get going on the day.

Score!!!

As always Goodwill comes through. In spades. Check it out.

The little dinky basket in front has been replaced with one that is far bigger and far better ($5).

I was in the middle of designing straps to hang it from handle bars ... 2? one from each basket handle? One across? and trying to figure out how to attach it to itself... I dug through my handbag hardware/strap stash and found exactly what I needed - hardware attached - from some old bag. Not all hoarding is bad, children! It's perfect. Then I added a shoe string to one of those push things that hold hoodie straps together to the bottom there (you can't see it well but it's those short white strings at the bottom of the basket) for stabilization. I tested it by riding around the room. PERFECT.

AND it goes completely on/off easily and quickly. It makes the scooter too big to park in the garage with it on so it needs to come off when I get home.

The backpack on the back was a tough decision. I actually abandoned it initially $14. Really. The other backpacks were also really pricey. But this one... I went back. It's basically a sports duffle bag with opening at the top top, backpack straps, waist strap (which I did not notice til I got home) and a generous outside zipper pocket. And yet another zippered section on the bottom! Oh yeah baby.

I had to modify the straps so that they pull all the way out to go around the chair back but that was easy and fine. The waist strap is a natural and perfect stabilizer. And it's not stiff like a new one so it collapses on itself when empty. This makes it really so that I don't even need to take it off when not in use.

Here it is in the "garage". The front basket fits nicely in the foot well and the seat back folds down perfectly even with the backpack on.

I'm more than a little delighted with this solution. I love Goodwill!
