The cool down will not actually get cool but it is down and I'll take it. At least the days' lows are in the 60's. It's two degrees cooler in this living room than it was last night and I can feel and am grateful for both those degrees. I slept way better than either of my sleep apps think I did. I don't think they realize the temperature challenges. I also did my full 25 minutes on the treadmill (I dreamed last night that I did 2 hours on the treadmill so 25 mins was nothing!)

Biggie's been outside all morning. He's not been up in his tree - not ready to make that kind of commitment yet, but he's out there. I also see where he's tried to breach the chicken wire. I need to get the staplegun and fix.

Twitter and Instagram reporting that stuff is opening up again. One of the city's indoor pools had to close yesterday. It's the one with the soaring floor to ceiling windows and, apparently, the pool deck got dangerously hot. I'm tellin' ya, we are not cut out for this shit.

I got a nice piece of condo intel yesterday. I've always known there was a secret code for getting into the front door from the street. The building's first janitor told me the code 30 years ago. It, of course, has long been changed. Probably many times. But I know there is one. The mail carriers use it, I've watched them from The Front Door TV Network.

Anyway, yesterday, I had a delivery from Amazon Fresh.I tracked him so I knew when he would be here. I saw him at the front door and I watched him punch in a code and come on it! So when he got up here, I asked him about it and he told me the actual code! hahaha now I know the secret!! If I ever get stuck without my keys or phone, I can still get in, thankyouAmazonFresh. You just keep giving.(Of course, if the building manager or board knew that it was being used by Amazon, they'd change it immediately. Critical security issues, you know... so don't tell, k?)

I have one errand to run. I need to go pick up my license tabs. There was a snafu and they can't be mailed. They need me there in person. Fine. They are actually closed on Wednesdays but I wouldn't be going today anyway. Maybe even not this week. I've got til mid-August so the only rush is to get it off my todo list.

It's only supposed to get to 90 today but I think I'll stick right here with the love of my life - a/c. My weather apps are all still flashing Excessive Heat Warning!!!!

I have two episodes of Line of Duty to watch and a baseball game at 4.

All is good.

Here in Seattle, at least outside, we're about half masked and half not. Inside it depends on the rules of the house. Here in this building, they published the rules in last Friday's newsletter.

I could not parse this information at the time and still can't.

"Should I wear a mask or not on June 30th?

As we move to being fully vaccinated, the Board wants to consider the comfort of all residents of the association. The governor has stayed consistent that Washington will fully adopt masking guidance from the CDC. The Board asks that everyone that chooses to not wear a mask to do so in your honor in order to protect the health of all residents and guests. We kindly ask that everyone also respect any resident’s choice as a valid decision. If the state issues any changes, the association will revert back to recommending that all residents wear masks.

In addition, the association will still require that all vendors or workers at the association continue to maintain wearing masks until it is advised otherwise."

I'm guessing he means June 30th and beyond which is when the governor has said the state will open and not just on the day of June 30th.

This is the bit that has me head scratching "everyone that chooses to not wear a mask to do so in your honor in order to protect the health of all residents and guests."

I waited a few days to see if there would be some clarification but, nope. In practice I'd say half of the people I see in the building are wearing masks and half are not. I always wear mine - with a button that says I'm vaccinated. But, twice now, I've had unmasked people hold back on getting into the elevator with me saying things like "I'll let you take that one and wait for the next." When I allow that I'm happy to share, they hop in. It's all very comfortable.

The county says no masks starting today. The state says no masks starting tomorrow (or they have said they will say that). I believe that the CDC says basically use your best judgement if you have been vaccinated.

The condo says... whothefuckknows??
