Every day for the past 4 or 5 weeks, I've put wet cat food out for Biggie. I've mixed it with wet cat treats and he's eaten as much of the food as it requires to get the treat. I've tossed out a whole lotta cat food.
This week, I've moved his dry food to the kitchen counter and kept the kibble bowl deliberately not filled up. Before I go to bed, I make sure there is a little in there.
This morning, there was a little kibble left. But, as usual, I got out a Tiki Cat pouch and started to open it. Biggie went nuts. He wanted the packet. I could barely get it open and into his bowl before he started eating! He did not even wait for the wet treat to be added! He only ate a large spoonful but it's way more than ever before. I think/hope we may have turned a corner.
I got my electric bill this morning. I used a good 15% less electricity this past month than I did during the same time a year ago. Weird but I'll take it. I also love that we are a week away from August. That means only 5 more weeks until the threat of hot is gone. I can make it from here.
I finished a sweater last night. Well, finished knitting it. I still need to steam it set but it will be my goto for all of the upcoming winter - inside and out. I love it. I mainly love the yarn - color and feel - which was an elcheapo from Michaels that they no longer even have. I have a lot left over so I think I'm going to make a pancho/wrap.
But, before that, it's Trader Joe's time. I have a very long list that I've been collecting - things I'm out of and things I want to try. I'm going to the good TJ's that's next to Safeway. What I can't find one place, I'll get at the other.
I did make a fabulous thai noodle salad yesterday. With left over chicken, Asian salad mix, peanuts and Trader Joe's Spicy Peanut Dressing. It needed green onions but, alas, none in the house. Regardless, it's very tasty and gets better as it sits in the fridge so I have more for today and green onions are on the list.
I think I'll get dressed, slap my mask on and get to it before it gets hot out.
Oh and guess where Biggie is and what he is doing? Bet you can get it in one.
