It's Tuesday, not Monday. Tuesday. Not that it makes that much difference here but still important to know. Old people need to keep these obvious facts on hand and easily accessible for when younger people use them to declare us incompetent. I'm on it. Today.

Today is project day. I want to set up some yarn projects - select colors, etc. And I have baking projects - well, at least one. Ginger cookies. And my grad student is coming to do handyman projects.

I also think I might put the air conditioner away today. It may be a little early and I might regret it, but it would be nice to be able to do it while I have muscle her to help me get it into its cubby.

The days will be ok. I'm just worried about whether or not the bedroom will be comfortable enough. Worst case, I guess I could haul it out again.

OMG. The new hockey team and their arena have announced they will require proof of vaccine for entry to any and all games plus exhibition games! Geesh. Baseball needs balls.

Time to get dressed and get going on projects because it is Tuesday!

The only team in major league history to have never ever played in a World Series, and who last played in a postseason game two decades ago, announced today that they will require proof of vaccination starting with any postseason home games this year.

They have the cajones of a fucking carpet.

All other professional sports. Even the stupid Seahawks. Now require proof of vaccinations for games. But, not the Mariners. They only require it for fantasy games.

I'm pissed. Really pissed. I'll get over it but not today.

Bad Call

I took down the cat door/ac/vent and unhooked the vent from the ac and then reinstalled the winter cat door (which took an embarrassingly long time to locate).

I was ready for the muscle to wriggle it into its cubby hole. Then I did a lot of other stuff. Including, just now (early afternoon) worked up some ginger cookies. Just standing in the kitchen putting stuff into the bowl and then cleaning up the kitchen after worked up a sweat. I do not like to sweat.

I took down the winter cat door. Reinstalled the cat door/ac/vent (which took zero time to locate) and am now enjoying some cool air conditioning.

The good news is that the taking down and putting up of the cat doors was dirt simple. I think [livejournal.com profile] bill_schubert took a hot glue gun to most of the velcro that holds it up. There's one small space where it's coming lose but the rest held tight. I can fix that small space and will.

Forecasts and temperature readings are nice guidelines. Me, sweating, calls the game.

This grad student isn't quite what I expected. He's 59 and looks 69 and walks with a limp. But he did scramble up the ladder so I'll give him that. But he will not shut up. I have used up my entire month's worth of unhuh and interesting and nice and unhuh and interesting and nice... and I'm over it. And he's not half done yet.

I baked up the rest of the banana chocolate chip cookies earlier and he spied them. I explained they were an experiment and not very crispy and kind of weird but he was welcome to as many as he wanted. There are none left. And he told me twice that they were very good.

He's cleaned the ceiling fan and, honestly, did a better than called for job of it. Now he's fixing the cabinet hinges which are very fiddly.

Finally, he's done with all of it. And, he really went above and beyond. He spent a lot of time loving on Biggie. But, it's all done.

It was here for nearly 2 hours (seemed like 4) and wanted to charge me $80. I had guessed it would be $200. So I paid him $120 and we are both very happy campers. Now I need to clean up stuff. But, yeah, punch list punched!
