Voted off the island
Oct. 24th, 2021 08:34 amI semi-officially abandoned one of my yarn projects. The color pallet wasn't good enough to keep going. It's a blanket that is now nearly a lap throw and I learned a lot doing it so no harm. I could pick it up again. Crocheting allows you do do that seamlessly far more easier than knitting. But I probably won't. Too little time and too much to knit and crochet to waste time on projects I do not love.
I got back on the temperature blanket (a square a day with colors based on the temperatures of the day) last night. Now, there's one I do love. And realized that the end is far more closer than the beginning which rather surprised me. I'm finishing up September now.
I noticed that our wind has made the national news. Mainly because it's also flooding California. They are calling it a bombcycle but I think that's only because those perky booby blondes can't say blow job without giggling. But, they giggle about every other thing. I do not get local TV news.
I have very long drapes that cover storage on the terrace. Always before, windstorms have whipped them around uncovering their storage. But last Summer I installed magnets. This morning, the wind is whipping the trees around like crazy but the curtains are only moving like it's a gentle breeze. Most satisfying.
The city of Seattle has set up another vaccine clinic with all options including the Moderna booster. It's downtown near one of Biggie's vet clinics as a matter of fact. And it has parking but there is also no street parking fee on Sundays. And the Seahawks game isn't until tomorrow. So I'm thinking, even though I now have two appointments, I may well just go get 'er done today.
The Seattle Times ran a story this weekend that has me way more than my usual level of grateful. It's about the nearly total lack of emergency vet care in this area. If Biggie had chosen to leap on a Saturday or late in the day, we would have been royally screwed. It's terrible to even think about.
And speaking of the love muffin, he just came out from his closet into the living room which he has not often done at all. Usually, I go in about mid-morning and get him and carry him to his breakfast. He could get there on his own but doesn't. Except now. It's only 8:15 and out he comes meowing all the way. I also feel like he's getting skinnier but if so, it won't be for long, the way he's chowing down on that Fancy Feast chicken and rice.
Now he's mesmerized by the wind. The Sphinx
