I semi-officially abandoned one of my yarn projects. The color pallet wasn't good enough to keep going. It's a blanket that is now nearly a lap throw and I learned a lot doing it so no harm. I could pick it up again. Crocheting allows you do do that seamlessly far more easier than knitting. But I probably won't. Too little time and too much to knit and crochet to waste time on projects I do not love.

I got back on the temperature blanket (a square a day with colors based on the temperatures of the day) last night. Now, there's one I do love. And realized that the end is far more closer than the beginning which rather surprised me. I'm finishing up September now.

I noticed that our wind has made the national news. Mainly because it's also flooding California. They are calling it a bombcycle but I think that's only because those perky booby blondes can't say blow job without giggling. But, they giggle about every other thing. I do not get local TV news.

I have very long drapes that cover storage on the terrace. Always before, windstorms have whipped them around uncovering their storage. But last Summer I installed magnets. This morning, the wind is whipping the trees around like crazy but the curtains are only moving like it's a gentle breeze. Most satisfying.

The city of Seattle has set up another vaccine clinic with all options including the Moderna booster. It's downtown near one of Biggie's vet clinics as a matter of fact. And it has parking but there is also no street parking fee on Sundays. And the Seahawks game isn't until tomorrow. So I'm thinking, even though I now have two appointments, I may well just go get 'er done today.

The Seattle Times ran a story this weekend that has me way more than my usual level of grateful. It's about the nearly total lack of emergency vet care in this area. If Biggie had chosen to leap on a Saturday or late in the day, we would have been royally screwed. It's terrible to even think about.

And speaking of the love muffin, he just came out from his closet into the living room which he has not often done at all. Usually, I go in about mid-morning and get him and carry him to his breakfast. He could get there on his own but doesn't. Except now. It's only 8:15 and out he comes meowing all the way. I also feel like he's getting skinnier but if so, it won't be for long, the way he's chowing down on that Fancy Feast chicken and rice.

Now he's mesmerized by the wind. The Sphinx

The wind died down for a good part of the day but has now been gusting for about 30 minutes. I just read that it's being clocked at 50 mph. The magnets on the terrace curtains are letting lose but then reattaching. The Tree That I Hate is really passing up a great day to fall over.

I did go get my booster shot at the city clinic. They really have it down. There were people on the street to direct you into the parking garage and then people at the elevators and at every single turn to tell you what was next.

From the time I parked until the time I got back into the car, I probably saw 100 people get vaccinated. And only 30 minutes had elapsed. It was wild. They don't make you hand around for the booster which was nice. The most difficult part was getting out of the damn parking garage. Hey Amazon, I'm pretty sure you can order EXIT THIS WAY signs on... Amazon!! (The clinic was in an Amazon office building.)

I can almost tell that I had the shot if I raise my arm the right way. Otherwise, no side effects except relief.

I got the Twigby sim card in the mail and figured I'd go ahead and load up the oldest phone and see if my grand scheme will work. Yup. Works great. It's on the Verizon network. My main phone uses the T-Mobile network. I wanted options. I paid $15 for the sim and a month of service and got a $20 bonus. So, so far, I'm good.

Mobile Virtual Network Operators are what they call these cell plans. I now have Mint Mobile ($15 a month), Twigby ($10 a month) and Paygo ($3 a month but it's talk/text only). So $28 bucks total over 3 phones - all share one phone number which is my Google Voice number.

Twitter is now just a list of roadways closed by downed trees and powerlines. So far I have electricity, internet and cable tv. I am grateful.

The next time I need to go somewhere will be tomorrow morning when I take Biggie ot the vet.
