There's a Seahawks game at 5:30 today which means traffic around here will suck after about 1 pm. So I thought maybe if I got Biggie into the vet early early, he might get out a little early. We'll see.

We got there before they opened. At this particular location, they have a separate door for 'scheduled procedures' which was great because the 'everybody else' door had a very long line. We were second in the Special Snowflake line.

Now I'm home and turned Robby onto his suction duties.

We still have wind and a little rain and lots o' places without electricity. I'm warm and dry with juice. And I'm grateful.

Google says my new phone will be here tomorrow or Wednesday. But it also says it hasn't shipped yet so today I will be refreshing that damn page all day long.

Also I need to find a case that meets my exacting standards. I have to be able to tuck a credit card and a $20 bill in so it can't be seen and the case needs to be ultra thin and not black or transparent. And not one of those folder things. The search is on. I bought a cheap one and have it ready so I can use it until a good one is found.

That's my plan for today. Refresh and search for something that doesn't exist. And wait for the vet to call about Biggie.

Around here, all sporting events involve a ton o' tents. Especially football. The tailgaters all have them - some very elaborate. Vendors have them. Those people that hand out free shit have them. They are everywhere for miles around.

Guess what group of objects really really really hate wind storms??? TENTS!!

I was just out in the 'hood and omg what a mess. Things are flying everywhere. A person could make a fortune today just wandering around selling cinder blocks.

Napkins are flying and condiments. Not to mention signs and furniture. And the game is still 5 and a half hours off. There's a lot more flying shit left to take off.

I got a power converter for the car and it arrived this morning. So I went down to hook it up and set up the car phone.

My garage is dark so I drove out to the road and just parked there to get it all set up. And then get the phone set up. It's very cool. I can charge the laptop AND the phone AND my pocket phone at the same time and fast. Nice.

So, while I was out, I decided to go get something for lunch. That's how I got the tour of the flying tents.

Google shipped my phone and FedEx says it will be here tomorrow. FedEx usually comes about 11ish. I'm now officially excited.

No word yet from Biggie's spa.

When my parents moved out of their lives into a retirement community, my father insisted on referring to it as The Club and my mom called it The Home.

Attitude.

So we will be referring to Biggie's vet days as his Spa days. He is not unhappy to be home.

And he lost his big old heavy hard casts. He now just has bandages - lots of them but at least it's better than walking on what must have felt like baseball bats.

In two weeks, she says, she wants to see if he can do without any.

He has one paw where the bones are all broken and that one is healing very nicely (she took x-rays today). The other paw has bunged up toes. The smaller outer one will never work again. But, apparently, he really doesn't need it. If it gets in the way, we will amputate.

He's finished his chicken and rice and is lying on the floor staring at me from across the room.

Oh and he has leopard print bandages this week!
