Biggie is using all four legs to get around this morning, mostly. He's still babying his right front paw. Dandling it sometimes but not always. He was napping in his bubble a bit ago when a stupid fucking bird flew into the window. (They fly into the window and then bounce right back and fly away.) And, THAT got his attention and has kept it. At one point he was up on the bolsters like this:

A bird flew in and Biggie slammed into the window and dropped down between the couch and the window. Not a sound. I went to look and he was just watching... watching... watching... and fine. And that's what he's been doing since. Watching very closely.

I am encouraged by his healing progress. Very encouraged.

And, look! There are almost no green leaves left. We are maybe one good windstorm away from naked tree. It's a blustery day out today so there is hope.

I have no plans beyond the usual. A lovely casual whatever kind of day. Me, Biggie and those fucking birds.

Many people have long lists of things that they will do if and when they retire. I sure didn't. I actually had no intention of retiring. I do like it well enough now, however. But sometimes the way I spend my time just cracks me up.

Here's today's case in point:

My new phone is supposed to charge wirelessly except it does not. Well, it does for maybe 4 or 5 minutes but not always and no longer than that. It's been driving me nuts. Getting connected to Google customer service is not easy and rather painful. BUT, heck, I'm retired with time on my hands.

You fill out this online form and click and click and then usually get an option of call or chat but most of the time they are grayed out so you really get neither.

Today, however, I got the option of a call. So I went with it. My callback came in about 45 minutes. The woman was clear speaking and had a nice tone. She asked a bunch of questions, gave me some needless thank yous but not too many. She told me I'd be on hold for 5 minutes but it was only about 4 and their hold music is VERY pleasant! Then she came back, asked a bunch more questions, got some information, put me on hold again. Exactly the same music not quite as pleasant the second time. Then she told me that 1. they knew about the issue. 2. i was not the only one. 3. they will have a fix soon.

The end. But, you know what? I wasn't even mad about it. It was not an unpleasant experience and I'm cool with waiting for a fix. And maybe all my info will help them get there faster/better.

Biggie's napping. All's good.
