Delivery Day

My Amazon delivery of yesterday will, apparently, be here today. I got an email saying my FedEx delivery of a week and a half ago will be here before 9 am today. I believe the today part but the before 9 am part lacks a bit of credibility. There's also a couple of other random deliveries that look like they will make it here today.

Last night, when I went into bed, Biggie was asleep in the fish bed. Just before I went to sleep, I came out and rubbed his head and hoped he'd follow. He did not. According to my sleep apps, this was a bad plan. Tonight, I'm carrying him to bed if he doesn't come on his own.

The leaves being gone from the tree only makes the birds easier to spot so that's what he's doing this morning.



When he's not trying to shred the blue recliner. He's taken to using it as a scratching post (ignoring the one 3 feet away). Good thing it's covered in kind of a nobby fabric. I covered his favorite edge with tape and so he just went to another spot. Time to dg out the Cat Away spray.

It is freakishly warm here this morning. Cloudy and wet but really warm. Yesterday it was freakishly humid. I appreciate the lack of sun but, hey, let's cool this shit down, k? Also my computer continues to warn me about flooding every hour. No floods here but the burbs and small nearby towns are getting wiped. Also more wind is promised.

I have a small list of chores but they start with a shower.

Call the electrician!

I washed the fish bed and luckily it all went back together after. I bought it on Etsy years ago the woman who made it disappeared from there a long while ago. It's really pretty excellent crafted but the fabric has faded a good bit. If she were still selling I might buy another. So thanks, lady, for saving me some $$.

I was a little concerned that Biggie might not like it as much when it was clean. But I was wrong. Then I installed some lighting. You know, in case he wants to read a book or have friends over.

He's fine with all the changes. He posed and then went to sleep.

half baked

Half of my deliveries arrived. It's fine. The other half are trackable and non critical and they will get here sometime this week. Based on the past two weeks, ordering shit and getting it delivered by the promised date is moving into unicorn territory. Gonna be a fun holiday for those who don't get ahead of the action and build in failure time.

I did get the cat food I had been waiting for. It's Purina's version of the stuff that is such a bitch to get open. In cans! And... it already passed the Biggie test. Whew. And Chewy carries it so it's already on my auto order. I feel like we're in good shape food wise.

It is way too hot in this house to be comfortable. If it were set up, the a/c would be on. Ugh. But, it looks like the fix is in, starting tomorrow. The high temp will be 20 degrees lower than today's high of 59 degrees. Also this is going to be a weird day on my temperature blanket!
