No vet visit for you today!

I woke up this morning to an email from the vet that it was time for Biggie's Feline Leukemia shot. ARUGH! I could not stand the idea of bagging him up and wrestling him to the vet's again. So I sent a note asking if it was ok to postpone since he never goes outside and never sees another animal. I just got a reply that he doesn't have to come in. Whew. I'm more relieved than he is but only because I didn't tell him.



Today's plan was to go walk Home Depot but I'm just not feeling it. That could change I'm not even dressed yet. I do have an Amazon return (which is next door). So probably I'll just do it.

But, I'm absolutely going to get dressed first.

Biggie's Got a Brand New Tree

Back a few weeks ago when the giant cat tree broke, I started shopping for a new one. Then I got the giant cat tree into a smaller cat tree and stopped shopping but Biggie never really warmed up to the shorter tree and was starting to use the blue recliner as a scratching post. So back to the shopping.

I wanted one with a dangling toy and I thought I'd probably also attach his "bee on a wire" at some point. (This is the one I bought.) I got a early delivery of the new tree this morning. He played with the ball. And he scratched on the post. And then he hopped on all the levels and then he finally settled into the top one where he is still is now. No instruction manual needed.

thanksgiving leftover shepherd's pie

I did not go to Home Depot (or Homo Depot as my friend, David who went there regularly to ogle hot guys). Instead I kitchened.

I made Thanksgiving Leftover Shepherd's Pie.

Mix together

chopped leftover turkey
chopped leftover mushrooms
chopped onion
chopped garlic
leftover gravy
chicken broth

Lay down a layer of leftover stuffing in a casserole. Then pour on the stuff you mixed together. Then top with leftover mashed potatoes. Bake at 400 degrees for 30/45 mins. Serve with leftover cranberry jelly. It's not that pretty when you dish it out but it makes the house smell wonderful and it tastes delicious!



I made this big casserole and then also made three single servings. I put the rest of the mashed potatoes and a lot of the dressing into single servings and froze it all. I froze the pie in pieces yesterday ready for one at a time.

The freezer is crammed but the fridge has a little more room to breathe. And I made a trip down to the dumpsters even tho that's on the spreadsheet for tomorrow. The bag was nicely full.

The kitchen is clean. The cat is clingy. But really all is fine. Home Depot will be there tomorrow.
