As a person who no longer works, Mondays - especially those after a long weekend - have become Welcome Back To Normal. Services are staffed again, stuff can happen again. Questions answered, money moves, things are back the way they are supposed to be.

Not that it really matters here today. It's just more of a feeling of better than a reality. All's fine and dandy anyway.

I think I'm done with turkey sandwiches. Delish but I'm over it for now. No baking needed for now. There's a surplus in the freezer that needs to be et first.

Today's extra steps will be a Goodwill walk (with Costco on Wednesday and Home Depot on Friday). I'm trying to get into a rhythm. I might substitute a grocery run but, I'd like to hold off on that as long as possible.

I found a chore app that doesn't suck, I don't think but setting it up is a rabbit hole. I need to add set up to my list of chores. But, I really need to get out of this chair and get moving before I get glued in and moving is no longer an option!

Hot!

Ok so not hot but not cool either. Not cool enough for me, anyway.

One of the Susan Dennises who cannot remember her own email address so uses mine is flying British Airways today and boy do they love sending information-free emails and tons o'them. But they also sent her account info and how to get a boarding pass. Wonder what the fuck she's going to do about that? I do not actually care. Thankfully, the trip is today so after a week of 'so how was your experience' follow up emails, we should be done. I do wish Google's response to my marking spam was to never send me shit from that email again. But, alas, they apparently use a different algorithm.

Goodwill was good and, actually, productive. I found 3 things I actually wanted and spent $10. There was a long line but they added a bunch of cashiers and it went quickly. That store is so well run.

Now I can take the rest of the days off - apart from finishing the chore app setup. If I go through all this and it doesn't produce magic, I'm not going to be happy.

For those who ask, I'm using Clean My House. Set up is not intuitive to me so a bit of a struggle BUT I have a feeling, once I'm done, it will be exactly what I'm after. Strong scheduled list, tailored to me, with reminder notifications.

My CPA just called. He's out. Retiring. Now. PHUQUE.

Gordon has been doing my taxes for 20 years. I've never met him one time. He lives/works about 30 miles from here but there's actually never been a need to get together.

I got him when I asked my financial adviser for a CPA. He gave me Gordon. Then he (the financial adviser) retired and I thought it was the end of the world. It wasn't. As a parting gift, he game me Tyler. Who's great.

Gordon says he has a firm lined up that he's got 100% confidence in but they will be more expensive. He's sending me a letter. (It was sweet of him to call before the letter got here.)

So I just sent a note to Tyler asking for CPA whispering. Do I do my tax return myself? Do I go with Gordon's expensive rec? Or does Tyler have a magic CPA bullet.

It's not an urgent matter for a while yet but it is disconcerting. I didn't even know how old Gordon was. At least I do know Tyler's still young and has a kid to send to college, so Whew.
