A Get Off My Lawn Morning

I am old people cranky this morning for no good reason. My fix is to just ignore the things that are pissing me off so you won't see about them here. They aren't the kind of things that ranting will fix so I'm just going to move my focus.

I think today is going to be a cookie day. I need some little cakes but I think I need cookies more. I still have one little cake in the freezer. Sugar cookies today. Another try at rolled/cut sugar cookies.

But first a walk. Goodwill cause it's Monday. I really don't want anything so it won't be a shop and walk. Just a walk to the back wall and then back. I'm getting a little squirrely about the virus... again so more of in and out and keep it moving today. I have noticed in more than one place recently that the Mask Required signs have been replaced by or augmented with one that says Please Wear Your Mask Properly. I approve. I have no need or desire to see your nostrils, dude.

Plus I need to be back here by noonish when UPS is coming to pick up my Amazon returns.

Biggie is back to using the blue recliner as a scratching post. I think he understands that I do not love that chair. But it's ok for now so I'd really rather not have it shredded.

No new condo drama so far today. But, hey, the day is young

Condo Pirate Update

I just talked to Jathan, the building manager and got some dets.

1. She got in via the front door call box. She tried about 5 different calls before someone let her in. She tried 'I forgot my key' and 'UberEats' among other things.

2. She hit other buildings and Jathan found the wheelie bin she stole in the next block and got it back!

3. She stole a garage door openers from a car that was unlocked and parked near the package locker. She also stole bags from that car. They have that on video too.

Jathan is going to reprogram all the garage door openers of the street level section. They haven't figured out who let her in and don't have access to the data that could but I suspect a Strong Memo to follow. Not sure what other fallout will ensue.

Still grateful that I am missing no packages!

No Goodwill No Goodcookies

I skipped the walk today after all but I have only now (2 pm) put my ass in a chair so I'm ok with not going. I've been making what will likely turn out to be a useless mess all day.

Plus a few trips down to the dumpsters.

I made the sugar cookies from the new, to me, recipe and they did not work. It is so hard to get butter to soft when the temperature is 62 degrees... inside. I tried but I think that's the main reason the cookie didn't work.

While they were in the fridge before rolling, I made a batch of buttercream frosting. What a mess. Ugh. Just in the middle of it, I remembered once that I bought some perfectly good buttercream frosting from the Safeway bakery once. I'm totally doing that again.

Biggie licked the beaters. He thought it was Fine. It's orange just because.

Actually, the first tray full of cookies is now cool and maybe they are not so bad. Most need to go back into the oven for about 5 mins but the one little one that was done didn't taste bad at all... hmmm

I do love my new oven! I have two trays in their now.

Biggie lost interest once I cleaned up all the dishes - the four million bowls I used and the lickable options. I just looked and he's on my bed under the comforter. A lump. He's such a character.
