I just talked to Jathan, the building manager and got some dets.

1. She got in via the front door call box. She tried about 5 different calls before someone let her in. She tried 'I forgot my key' and 'UberEats' among other things.

2. She hit other buildings and Jathan found the wheelie bin she stole in the next block and got it back!

3. She stole a garage door openers from a car that was unlocked and parked near the package locker. She also stole bags from that car. They have that on video too.

Jathan is going to reprogram all the garage door openers of the street level section. They haven't figured out who let her in and don't have access to the data that could but I suspect a Strong Memo to follow. Not sure what other fallout will ensue.

Still grateful that I am missing no packages!

Glad she didn’t get anything of yours!
And, hopefully if they have her on video they’ll stop her.
I know it is unlikely folks will get their missing stuff, but hopefully she’ll stop taking things!

Wow. I was worried about the bin.

The package locker must have been unlocked.

Love that people will let someone in 'to be nice'.

Its what I always say about software. You can make it as secure as you like but it's the wetware that's the bigger problem.

While watching her 'work' I thought, "Ah ha! she's leaving loads of fingerprints!" But I'm pretty sure that if it doesn't involve murder or millions of dollars, they won't go to the trouble to check for her prints. But they should, and I wish they would. I want her caught and tried!

I have a friend whose car was stolen from a building that had all kinds of security and people weren't supposed to be able to get into the garage unless they lived there, and then the backup was supposed to be that there was someone working in the garage had to let you out of the garage, and they're supposed to ask for your pass if they don't recognize you. A couple people managed to get in the same way as the person who got into your building, then they found their way into the garage somehow, got my friend's car, and by the time the guy letting people out of the garage realized it was the wrong person driving the car, they were already gone. It's like anything security related - it's only as strong as the weakest link.

I remember getting a call late at noon get from someone who sounded drunk, asking to be buzzed into my building, claiming she was going to her boyfriend's unit. I said something like "then you should call him" and hung up.

The garage is tougher because it is fairly easy just to follow someone in when they open the door. We've had incidents of cars being vandalized or thefts from cars, but people can't get into the actual buildings from the garage without a key fob.

It was mind boggling to watch that video. She had that thing piled high.

We constantly remind residents not to let people into the building they don't know. We also remind them they can view who is in the lobby via a certain television channel. Fortunately, we haven't been broken in to since April.
