We, apparently, got more snow last night. Not inches but enough to bring the football stadium parking lot back to pure white. Also what was left yesterday has not had a chance to melt because it is coooooooooold. One weather app on my phone says it's 17 degrees (-7c). The other says it's 22. The thermometer on the terrace says it's 24. So while they may differ on degrees they all agree there will be precious little snow melting any time soon.

The street out front (a fairly major thoroughfare) is still snowy. From the Front Door TV Cam

My plans this morning were to swing by Goodwill and look for a really deep mixing bowl and then pop over to Amazon Fresh for toilet paper and a few other essentials. My plans now are to stay here in this house. I don't need the bowl today or, as it turns out, the toilet paper. I found 3 small rolls in the very back of the paper supply cabinet. I'm good for a week!

If the roads get better, I might order food in. But, I've still got meals in the freezer. So really not required. And just as well because a lot of places are taking snow days. I just saw where [livejournal.com profile] meowmensteen's bakery is closed so she gets to design her own day today.

I might do laundry. Maybe I'll change the bed linens.

Biggie's hugging his heating pad and wondering where his birds are this morning. He's watching but they are pretty much a no show. The city set up a bunch of warming shelters. Wonder if that's where they are.

no melting

This is the football stadium parking lot just after noon today. No asphalt showing at all.

I'm being generous with my use of toilet paper since I found the hidden stash. Oh the luxury!

The bed has clean fresh linens on it. The shower even got a curtain change. All the laundry is washed and dried and put away.

Last night I was woken up by pain in my shoulder and my hip. I've had it before - in my legs and upper arms. I'm pretty sure it's clot action. I got up and took some aspirin and then lay there and tried on various what if I died in the night plans.

I try to stay death ready. Assuming I go first (I'm older and out of shape and have COPD and maybe blood clots - so not unreasonable assumption), my brother is going to have to step in and do whatever. Mainly, of course, take care of Biggie. He's very nearly an anti-cat person but he's very pro animal and he'll step up.

(By the way, the cat food currently on the counter is his least fav. He has to have some of it every day until it's gone. I try to mix it with his fav. Plenty of fav in the cabinet next to the half bath.)

Then it's onto my bank accounts, online accounts and subscriptions. He has ready access to all the passwords he will need. And all this stuff I have.

So when I went to sleep trying to come up with a solid divestiture plan - and failed. I think I'm at the point where I have the right amount of stuff for my space. None of it needs to live beyond me. I don't have fine art or fine jewelry. So he can just call 1800junk and point.

And speaking of junk, the Goodwill store is closed today anyway.

Oh just saw the 2 day snow total for this neighborhood - 5 inches. More to come on Thursday. Hopefully I can get out and stock up before then.
