Cardio AND Breakfast!!
Aug. 8th, 2009 10:56 amI need a user pic that shows this guy with a barbell in one hand and bacon in the other!
But I did walk. I took the bus to the last tunnel stop. It's a great walk home from there with tons of options. Here, I made a map.

Today I walked down to the Market there by the water but the place I had in mind for breakfast had a menu with nothing good on it. So I kept on going. I walked down First Avenue til I got to Madison and to the Hotel 1000. My neighbor Scott (the now landlord of Smoke Man) was crazy about their bar when it first opened but I'd never been in there. They had a menu out front that looked interested so what the heck? Boka - dumb name but no dumb place!
The hostess sat me at a corner booth on a raised floor with a picture view! This was supposed to go from my phone but Flickr is not blogging today, it seems.

The place is swank but comfortable. The menu has some wonderful stuff on it. After I ordered, my waiter - Eric - asked me if I'd like a newspaper and then gave me a selection!

It was deeevine!!! A crispy potato pancake topped with fluffy scrambled eggs, lox, creme fresh and chives. 2 yums up!
I love my usual Sunday place but it is as gritty as this place is classy. Their forks are classy. $13 (before tip) for this plus coffee. I think I'm going back tomorrow and try out their bloody mary. If they past the bloody mary test, we could have a new Sunday favorite!
It is also a nice distance from my house. Far enough away to walk off you meal. Very excellent find.
Very lovely outing.

I mean you can try to be careful.....
