Fun outing

It was really hot out but the sun wasn't so I could stand it. I do not miss the heat of the South but I do miss their love of air conditioning. The bus I road to town in was not air conditioned and was crowded. Macy's must have been air conditioned but not much. But, I survived and it was fun.

I went to Macy's to find nice king sized pillow cases in a fun color (fun = other than white or beige). They had very few king sized pillow cases of any color. They had zero sales associates interested in helping me although one did inquire if I was finding what I wanted but when I said that I was not, he apparently had his answer and was satisfied.

I did finally find a great color - a bright purply blue. King sized. On sale. Marked down to $109. I'm guessing it comes with a naked cabana boy at that price but I did not want to carry anything that heavy home.

(Seriously. I remember when I was in my 20's and Macy's was a step (small) above Bloomingdales and where you went when you did not want to spend the big bucks at the fancy department stores. Holy crap.)

Then I went up two floors to forks. Their display was pitiful and their selection worse - that was in every day stuff so I went over to the silver department where they had stainless and it was in a little better shape and, actually, a sales clerk helped me! I learned a bit about what I wanted and got some names of acceptable patterns to try. Again too heavy to carry home so I was not tempted to buy.

Then on to the movies only I was an hour early BUT, Tuesdays turns out to be Senior day and the damn thing was only $6. So I sat myself down at Johnny Rocket's and had a cheese burger with fries and a shake and killed a perfectly wonderful hour watching the world go by.

And then to the movie. Which turned out to be delightful! I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Now back home. I had a couple of work items waiting and took care of them and now we are all caught up. Whew.

$109 pillow cases need to come with a naked cabana boy and a bartender.

For the pillowcases...

Try Target. They have high thread count sheets and pillow cases at reasonable prices, all sold individually and lots of good colors.

While the rest of the day sounds like fun, the pillowcases sound definitely off-putting. Forget the cabana boy: they should send someone out to make your bed every day for a year...

have a Mikasa outlet store about 30 minutes from here. Do you possibly have one up there?

Also Target has a plethora of sheets and pillowcases. And with school starting they have tons of stuff for back to school in bright colors. I actually like their Home brand, but it's a polycotton blend.
