Bobs and stuff

susandennisI love the acapella group, The Bobs. They are coming to town. They are giving a free lunch time concert semi near here on Thursday. (They were scheduled for one in December but it got snowed out.) As it turns out my project manager will be away from work at the same time so it works out perfectly. I'm quite looking forward to it.
They are also doing a show Saturday night at the Triple Door. I'm tempted but I've never been to the place and I'm not sure I want to go by myself and probably seeing them free on Thursday will do fine.

We're heating up here again. Mid week should be the hottest and I'm choosing to think of it gratefully as The Last Blast of Summer.
I grew up where Summer heat extended at least until October and usually to Halloween. So I was thrilled the first year I lived here when on a ferry home from a Labor Day weekend island jaunt, I nearly froze to death. I know every year, come Labor Day, it will turn to My Kind of Weather.
Two weeks. The days are already significantly shorter. (And, yeah, in my perfect world, I would have longer days and colder weather all year long but the cooler is way more important so I'm ok with the dark.)

They are still working on the redressing of the common areas of this condo building. One significant change so far is the lighting. They have put in recessed lighting with shading so that there are spot light shadows on the walls of our very long hallway. Very interesting decorative effect. They are nearly finished with the 5th floor but each floor will be a little bit different. They might be finished on my floor (4th) next week.
Everybody in the building is bitching about it in one way or the other. They finally put up a notice in the elevator. Dear neighbors, love design committee. In between was six long paragraphs of 'we hear that you aren't happy and we honestly and truly don't give a shit'. It's really hilarious.
My guess is that when it's all said and done, most everyone will be happy with the new look.
New work coming in... better get to it.
