Mind over fried matter
Aug. 19th, 2009 09:27 amI am such a whiny wimp. I hate hot weather. So this time of year, particularly, I'm on Orange Alert. Tell me we are going to have a record breaking hot day and I'll start being uncomfortable 20 degrees early just so I don't miss anything.
It's comforting to know that I can - at the age of 60 - have and use the intellectual maturity of a 6 year old.
---
We are having a record breaking hot day. At least that's what the teenaged pretty TV weather people say. I got up early again today to get a head start on work and since I was up already, I got a head start on heat bitching too. I'm so efficient.
---
I'm caught up with the work stuff for the moment. I have my training session with Nadia in an hour.
Tomorrow is a crowded day of miscellaneous things. They are painting the doors to our units so the door has to be propped open all day. And, although kindly worded, the notice was clear that Travis and Betty are not welcome to use said door. As long as I'm home, they will be fine.
BUT, I am going to the concert at noon. I think I'll probably herd them onto the terrace and shut them out there. They like it out there and it will only be for a couple of hours.
Amira comes tomorrow, too. And the baseball game starts at 10 am although I understand that it stands a better than even chance of getting rained out. At least we won't lose.
---
But, all of that is tomorrow. Today is just about holding on til winter comes...

Date: 2009-08-20 12:23 am (UTC)It's been a tad warm even for me this year. Not sure what the winter temps will be like. It's supposed to be wet. I don't do cold very well. My definition of cold = anything below 60. My definition of unbearable is anything below 40.
