Waking up the roosters

I am such a morning person and I think I'm getting more morninger the older I get. And while that bodes well for mornings, afternoon payback is a bitch. Yesterday afternoon I was a dodo bird by 4. It takes me twice as long to do work after 3pm and half as long before 8am. This morning I got up early and cranked out a day's worth of stuff before 10.

I can sleep in. I can. Even sometimes as late as 8. Once, in recent memory, I slept till almost 9.

Tomorrow I am having breakfast/lunch with ljtourist. He's the opposite. He's a great sleeper in'er. So tomorrow, when he gets up, he's going to call and I'll meet him at the light rail station. We're going to Geraldine's. He's going for breakfast and I'm going for lunch.

I need a checking account with a brick and mortar that is semi near here. I'd like free checking - I'm ok with $1,000 minimum balance but no freakin way am I going to stick $10k in your bank for you to hold with no interest (you smokin' crack?), and I have to have transfer to and from other banking institutions.

You'd think that would be easy to find, wouldn't you? Well, it's not. Cripes.

Does it have to be a bank? If not, check out the WSECU and BECU branches near you. The worst I've seen is a $50 minimum in savings.

I actually looked at both of those - no nearby branches. I looked at a couple of credit unions that have branches nearby and they don't want me (can you imagine???!!!).

But, I just this minute hit paydirt. Key Bank. Free checking - total transfers - 1 miles from here... next to Krispy Kreme!

I hope you are feeling better. I hate that you had to feel like crap through New Zealand. It's one of my favorite spots in the world!

I am feeling better, thanks. I was able to enjoy Wellington and will go back there again sometime (I hope). Christchurch wasn't much so I don't feel I missed out. If I had to pick a place to be under the weather I think I picked the best of the lot.

I'm the yang. I think wellington is unfriendly and windy and ugly. I'd go back there only if I had to in order to get somewhere else. christchurch, on the other hand, I found utterly charming. And I did go back there, twice!

Interesting. Wellington struck me as much more Seattle-like. Christchurch was "the English have landed and completely replaced what was here with ... ENGLAND!" If I wanted an English town I'd have gone to England.

It's true, I am great in bed. I can sleep all day.

I typically have a little window of productivity around 11am, but most of my stuff gets done between 3 and 8pm.

This is not a new phenomenon. When I was in high school, it was always a battle to get up on time. My mother would constantly tell me that I would have to change when I went into the "real world" because no employer would put up with my hours. I have spent my life proving her wrong. :)

Anyway, see you tomorrow! Will probably call between 11am and noon.
