The Mariner game sucked eggs and it was clear by the 7th inning that the suckage was only going to get worse so I figured it was an excellent time to go run my errands. I needed a new pillow for my bed. Target is very near Bed Bath and Beyond and their websites indicated they both carry what I was after. Turns out only BB&B does so good I went to the location that had both.
I was about a half hour from being home when my phone rang. It was Ron Brown from down the hall with a computer problem. I do not - at least so far - mind helping him at all. He's very respectful and is always very clear that all he wants to know is if the fix is easy or if he needs to take it in for repairs. On the phone he described what sounded like a hardware hiccup and he was frozen solid. It's a laptop so I told him to take the battery out and put it back in and turn it on again and I'd be there in about 30.
The most interesting thing about the call, though, was the clarity. He sounded like he was standing right next to me. The last handful of calls I've gotten on my cellphone have been really poor in terms of quality. And I was getting worried about my phone. But Ron's call proved that my phone is fine. He was calling on a land line. Interesting.
I finished up and came on home and went down to their apartment where he was letting the laptop cool down. We turned it on and he was, of course, just fine. He was so excited. It was cute.
I then spent some quality time with the music on my phone. I rarely listen to it but I did this morning while I was walking and enjoyed it a lot but it was not at all organized well. Some songs playing twice in a row and episodes of This American Life sprinkled in with the music. So I got it all sorted out - I think - and ready for the next time.
Now I am going to watch a movie or something and knit... for a change.
