I did go to the ballgame, for a bit. There were lots and lots and lots of knitting/yarn vendors. It was really quite amazing there were so many. It was kind of fun to stroll through them all.

It was kind of fun to be at the stadium. Not something I need to do more than once a year or so but it was nice. I was watching the players stretch before the game started and saw they were doing the same stuff we do in stretch class!! And my or my, those boys are flexible!

It was kind of fun to watch the game but I miss the commentary and seeing the player's faces.

In the beginning there was kind of a breeze and it was pretty comfortable in the shade. But the later it got the hotter it got?! And it was no longer fun to knit a heavy sweater while watching the game.

Then in the middle of the 6th inning they showed some of the knitting vendors on the jumbrotron and all of a sudden I was looking at a dog that looks just like the last 5 I have knitted. I know the author of the pattern lives about an hour north of here and sure enough one of the booths was selling all her patterns and had samples made up. It was great to actually pick one up and study where the muzzle starts and how the crotch is worked. It was fun.

I wandered around and took a last look at the other vendors and then headed home. It was just too darned hot.

I was wearing my faux crocs and discovered that the down escalators at the stadium are too fast for crocs. I tried them for one floor but it was a scary ride. I've never been a big fan of escalators but when they are going down and going down way too fast, I'm taking the stairs. I don't want to be the old fat lady who did a header on spikey escalator steps. thank you anyway.

The Mariners are losing and I think I'll knit some dinosaur legs while I watch the rest of the game.

I shut down a Los Angeles subway station escalator because of my Crocs. You know those puppies (reptiles) don't run small, and I take an XL. That makes for a huge footprint. With escalators, there's a brief second where there are TWO escalator steps level with where they come out of the magical little slot at the bottom? Just before they begin to turn from conveyor belt into steps. I stepped full across both steps-to-be, front half of Croc'd foot on what should have been the upper step, rear half on the lower.

The escalator stopped cold. Klaxons and "Emergency! Vacate Escalator Immediately!" noises would have been fun, but it just silently stopped. Didn't even jolt the people above.

We blamed it on me since other escalator in the place was fine. When we passed through the station again on the way home, it was moving agian. I wanted to repeat the exercise and prove the theory, but I let my husband talk me out of it.

What are your favorite faux Crocs? I've tried on lots of different fakes and none of them seem to have the right squish.
